Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
Liaise with other Link Group IT teams to provide network support for existing systems.
Liaise with 3rd parties for support of vendor provided products and services that constitute part of the Link Group network (i.e. Telecommunications carriers, hardware vendors etc).
Provide technical network support for all Link Group business systems and applications.
Provide technical support to the Link Group business units and the IT Infrastructure team as required.
Work closely with the Development, Product and Client Facing teams to meet all network infrastructure support requirements.
Assist with the management of escalated Severity 1 and 2 issues as required.
Ensure audit and compliance protocols are reviewed and complied with.
Ensure all work adheres to appropriate change management, audit and compliance protocols.
Operational Management
Create and maintain procedural support documentation.
Produce monthly network management reports.
Manage network monitoring tools and processes to ensure all devices are monitored and backed up appropriately.
Respond to all network incidents within designated SLA’s.
Ensure all devices under support are maintained at current patch levels.
Participate in the on-call roster for 24×7 support.
Key IT stakeholder/owner of Link Group network infrastructure.
Maximising network uptime and performance.
High quality incident management and problem resolution within role scope.
Managing within established SLA’s.
People Leadership
Regular attendance at management and team meetings.
Governance & Risk
Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Attend required training and maintain appropriate qualifications for the role.
Support Link Group assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices
Experience & Personal Attributes
Degree-educated or relevant professional qualifications are desirable but not essential.
8+ Years of experience in Network Infrastructure Support and Management.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Computer Science/Information Technology
Experience and competencies.
Proven experience in the configuration and maintenance of LAN, WAN and Wireless infrastructure within a multi-vendor environment
Demonstrated ability to configure and implement complex network systems
Experience in deploying and supporting network technology in a complex, large-scale environment.
Experience with Cisco routing, switching, IP telephony & wireless technologies
Knowledge and experience with a broad range of network vendors equipment including Cisco, Citrix, Fortinet, Riverbed and Checkpoint
In depth knowledge and experience of network technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Ethernet switching and routing, IPSec, SSL VPN
Knowledge and experience with Load Balancer technologies, DNS and GSLB
Understanding of various WAN technologies
Experience in 24×7 mission critical environment, preferably in the financial industry
Working knowledge or prior experience with Cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure
Experience in supporting SSL certificate generation, renewals and troubleshooting
Experience with Cisco Nexus Virtualisation technologies an advantage
Working understanding of Windows Operating Systems including Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2008, Windows 2012, Windows 2016
Knowledge of Windows Active Directory an advantage
5 plus years of experience in a related role.
Ability to approach technical issues and problems in an analytical and solutions focussed manner
Work in a professional, transparent and accountable manner

Good organisational skills with the discipline to complete daily operational tasks accurately and consistently
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
