What you will learn and contribute to
In this role, you will be part of our Enterprise Applications team, responsible end to end for Nokia’s applications’ portfolio, used across all Business Groups and Functions. Our current mission is to simplify and modernize our application portfolio and to transform into a fast moving, product-oriented and customer-focused technology organization.
We build and maintain, companywide R&D laboratory budget planning and management solutions. We implement user community requirement on daily basis supporting business process changes and transformation.
We aim for cloudification, database optimization, modularity with micro services, better user experience by user interfaces redesign.
As part of our team, you will:
Develop, coordinate and drive infrastructure & software/automation projects at agreed service levels, using hands-on programming.
Ensure the overall reliability and scalability of cloud service.
Optimize existing environments based on business and security needs.
Troubleshoot system and application issues, including containerized microservices.
Investigate issues partnering closely with the SRE and the broader Engineering team.
Automate deployment, management, security, patching.
Partner with internal customer teams to drive projects and improvements. Work with customer teams to drive project goals and prioritization.
Work cohesively with operations teams in US, India and Europe to provide 24×7 support
Your skills and experience
You have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Experience implementing, troubleshooting and supporting the Unix/Linux and Windows operating system, internet-based applications and web servers.
Experience with TCP/IP networking (DNS/DHCP).
3 years of relevant work experience with Linux or Unix, as well as programming/scripting experience (Bash, Perl, Python, C, PowerShell).
It would be nice if you also had:
3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Developer Operations, Cloud Native, Cloud Native Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, continuous delivery, networking, configuration management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), operations, IT admin and software automation.
Experience with configuration Management tools like Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
Virtualization and Cloud hosting experience.
Experience with mixed operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows, VMware ESXi).
Understanding of Cloud technologies, including containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes as well as experience managing public cloud deployments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
