Our network engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks of our clients to ensure maximum uptime for our users. Our network engineers are the escalation points of contact for all network related issues. Our network and security operations support are provided remotely over the phone and via email, and selectively onsite. Our network engineers design and maintain effective network configurations, document, and manage network installations, and provide life-cycle upgrades.
Responsibilities
Network performance monitoring and troubleshooting for 24x7x365 network and security operation center support activities
Provide resolution for escalated network service tickets
Maintain knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection
Design and implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
Evaluate existing systems and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement system changes
Investigate network faults and performance related issues
Create firewalls and update virus protection software and data security systems
Implement disaster recovery procedures
Coordinate and collaborate with 3rd party security provider to manage customer security postures
Improve and document troubleshooting standards and procedures
Arrange scheduled upgrades, including patching, firmware, and system upgrades
Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation after normal business hours

5 years of IT Systems troubleshooting experience
3 years of IT Network troubleshooting experience
1 year of IT Security troubleshooting experience
Understanding Network Fundamentals
Understanding of Wireless Networking
Understanding of Routing and Switching
Understanding of Security Posture
Understanding of Command Line Interfaces
Highly knowledgeable of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QOS)
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model, and network diagnostic and analytics tools
Certifications: MCP, MCSA, Network +, Security +, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or similar
