Job Summary:
The Head of GCS IT, Asia role provides IT direction, execution, and support across all Global Corporate Services (GCS) IT functions and teams in India, to support the APAC region. They will also be responsible for product development and support that is provided to Milliman global by the IT teams in India. This role will provide leadership in evolving Milliman’s regional capabilities and have skills to engage with the day-to-day technology development. Although their primary role is to provide, maintain and enhance the IT capabilities support for the India office, they will be doing so in working closely with the New Delhi Shared Services (NDSS) IT team. They will also have a critical role in supporting Milliman’s global IT model and improving levels of services and efficiency globally.
This leadership role will be based out of Gurugram, India and will report directly to the Chief Information Officer as part of the GCS (Global Corporate Services) group. They will have multiple teams reporting to them (Infrastructure & Operations, Information Security, and Business Technology Services) and will be accountable for all the work delivery, quality, and SLAs for those capabilities. This person works closely with business sponsors, local practice leaders, and NDSS teams.
This role has a local focus as well as a global focus so it will require strong collaboration with various leaders in US, Asia, and elsewhere. They will be responsible for mentoring the teams, inspiring, and motivating them to pursue and achieve projects/goals the technology and APAC leadership set forth.
Roles & Responsibilities
A validated technology leader with a track record of growing direct and indirect teams that deliver significant impact in high growth and distributed companies
Partners with other GCS IT leaders in Seattle in helping and driving the vision for GCS IT functions.
Partners with NDSS teams and other practice leaders in Milliman to understand, influence, and shape the future roadmap of corresponding capabilities at a local (India), regional (APAC), and global level.
Responsible for leading and facilitating IT, Infosec, and Compliance audits for India and other regional practices
Works closely with NDSS IT team to support them in overseeing helpdesk and other IT employee services to support Asia region
Responsible for maintaining and improving SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and OLAs (Operational Level Agreements) for all the services provided to India and regional practices by the GCS teams
Partner with security experts to ensure each practice’s infrastructure meets all security requirements and continues to evolve to meet changing needs and best practices
Responsible for identification and resolution of local and regional IT-related issues and opportunities; acts as a subject matter expert for IT operations and infrastructure with decision-making authority
Provide guidance and help in developing/deploying technology solutions (such as cloud migration and workflow automation) to practices
Review production systems to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve the response time, availability, and reliability of solutions while reducing utilization and costs
Manage the development and implementation processes for the organization’s corporate capabilities, from roadmap creation to project planning, development, implementation, and communication to the organization as needed
Skills and qualifications required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
15+ years of demonstrated experience and successful operation of complex information technology environments
Proven experience in the areas of staff management, development, and mentoring giving performance feedback and regular evaluation for team members to achieve success.
Direct experience in leading and managing teams in Information Security, Business process improvements, and Infrastructure & Operations towards development and supporting global technology solutions
Ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a matrix environment
Knowledgeable of current technology trends, including the impact of cloud and operations automation on IT Operations and Service Delivery.
Experience in process improvements and using technologies for BPA and optimizations
Proven experience in digital modernization including migrating data, compute, processes, and products to a multi-cloud environment
Must have strong communication and relationship skills and interact effectively with senior leadership.
Good project management skills and attention to detail
Experience managing vendor relationships for all infrastructure services and solutions and reviewing vendor contracts, statements of work, and related documents
Must have proven ability to influence without authority
