Amazon Home Services team in Hyderabad, India is developing a services platform which will make it possible to sell services with the same degree of convenience and flexibility we sell products. We are looking to hire smart and highly motivated Engineers who will work towards launching this next wave of disruptive services platform for Amazon.
We are looking for a Support Engineer who likes to solve critical problems for our large suite of software applications and services. Your solutions will affect our customers directly! High Impact production issues often require coordination between multiple Development, Product and Support teams, so you get to experience a breadth of impact with various groups.
What you will do here
Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues, developing tools, automations and monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and configuration, implementing the fix for internally developed code (JAVA), updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges and improving operational excellence and readiness of the systems. You will get opportunity to independently deliver marketplace expansion projects spanning across multiple technical teams and requires stakeholder management across tech, business, tax and accounting stakeholders.
You should be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure. You are able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. You have ability to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
. BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
. 2+ years overall technical support experience
. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with both technical and non-technical customers
. Knowledge of at least one programming language like Java, Javascript etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. 4+ years overall technical support experience
. Ability to write intermediate level database queries. SQL skills.
. Understanding of web services, workflow modeling, web application development, and industry-standard commerce systems.
