Network Engineer
Area: LAN, WLAN and DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP)
Global IT Shared Service Centre manages ASSA ABLOYs shared infrastructure, global application, application management, and security for all globally distributed solutions.
You will work as Network Engineer within GSSC infrastructure Service Areas in close cooperation with the network team, partners, suppliers, and alliances.
Role description
In this position you will manage and provide support for the Network infrastructure area which are tight connected to infrastructure Security.
Involvement in architecture, design and implementation of solutions as well as keeping the environment well-documented.
In close partnering with our internal teams, internal customers and external strategic partners, you will increase the quality and efficiency for IT Network and Security infrastructure.
The Network Engineer is part of a global team handling Infrastructure services within WiFi, LAN, WAN, Remote Access, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP), Firewall, Load balancer, URL & proxy handling and monitoring. And reporting to the Service Delivery Managers in the different services.
Responsibilities and Challenges
Part of a global team for Network Infrastructure within GSSC APAC and AMER region.
Cooperate with our venders and securing well working services.
Close interaction and communication with the customer(s) and colleagues around the world for service-related enquiries and issues.
Collecting feedback and requirements from customers and stakeholders.
Identifying opportunities for service improvements.
Contribute in driving a common infrastructure network design and architecture, being compliant with related policies
Present relevant findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
Contributing in developing existing and use of new services, technology and products
Tasks for agreed Products and Services
Driving our partners and securing adequate setup, design and a well working operation within the areas of LAN/WiFi and DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP).
Contribute in reporting and analysis of Service metrics
Work with the processes for Service requests, changes and operations
Follow the recommendations for Network Services improvement, roadmap and Service Catalogue.
Review service performance against Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Qualifications
Documented expertise within network infrastructure services; LAN/WIFI, Routing, Switching & DDI.
You have a clear understanding of Global management and central handling of LAN in DC´s as well as on sites, routing, switching and IP/DNS/NTP management.
You have 2+ years of involvement as a technical resource within a project setting.
Technical Skill Set (Required):
Switching and Routing
Cisco WIFI
Cisco ISE
Arista DC equipment
Technical Skill Set (preferred): +Infoblox Enterprise DDI, ServiceNow ITSM
Technical Skill Set (Consider as a plus): CloudVision, VMware NSX, Zscaler
Projects Settings preferred: Working in a customer-facing and or product development capacity, in roles such as presales, post-sales, professional services, vendor’s partners engineer within a product management setting.
Experience in working with global providers
Possess a strong Customer orientation
Skills in reading design and documentation sheets
Process oriented approach
High level of verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Language Skills
Ability effectively communicate in English language verbally and in writing.
