Introduction:
We are looking for an application support analyst with good expertise in incident and change management for CRES systems.
What will you be doing?
Perform incident, problem & change management activities, including working closely with technology and business stakeholders to provide innovative and tactical solutions to issues as well as improving the performance of our Applications and processes; this will include managing major incidents, performing post incident reviews and coordinating with our various 3rd party suppliers
Support infrastructure patching, system upgrades and version changes, maintenance activities with communication, change management, post implementation health checks, validations and fixing any issues
Lead planning and execution timelines/activities of various major releases and critical changes into Production and DR environments in collaboration with our development and technology support teams; this will include creating & managing change requests in accordance with Barclays Change Management standards
Contribute to the run book with description of tasks, responsible owners and timelines for promotion of applications into Barclays production environment – assist CRES Technical Delivery lead in this effort.
Handle Service Management transition planning, documentation and engagement with CRES Run the Bank team.
Handle ICP and virtual server planning and documentation including engagement with CRES Technical Delivery lead to size and scale test, production and DR environments.
Independently identify repetitive or time consuming processes that can be automated, especially where they benefit multiple business areas, and deliver a sustainable solution that can be leveraged for other areas as needed.
Create required knowledge base documentation required to support applications, including appropriate sign-off where required
Coordinate various support activities across the global team, including handover of issues, knowledge sharing, training and collaboration on strategic projects
Work closely with the wider global Functions technology teams to ensure best utilisation of resource and allocation of BAU work.
Contribute to building Knowledge base and overall good health of the application.
Implement and adhere to ITIL standards across the team.
Adhere to Policies & Standards appropriate to the role – outlined in the Code of Conduct and mandatory trainings
What we’re looking for:
Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical abilities
Strong Interpersonal and Communication skills, including negation and influencing skills
Knowledge of Software Design, Development processes and ITIL – Incident, Problem and Change Management; Stakeholder Management
Proven ability to multi-task, be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, with changing priorities
Ability to quickly learn new business processes
Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours
Good team player and self-motivated
Adaptable and able to pick up new techniques
High attention to detail and quality of work
Skills that will help you in the role:
Exposure to SQL server, MySQL, Core Java, Windows Server / Linux, Scripting tools: Bash / Shell / Powershell
