Beckman Coulter is seeking a Senior Software Architect , CDS Solutions , based at Danaher’s India Development Center (IDC), at state-of-the-art facility in Bangalore or remote from other locations in India. IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 650+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet, SCIEX, IDBS and Cepheid. The IDC workforce is comprised of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for Clinical Decision Support, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
Role Description:
As the Senior Software Architect, CDS Solutions, you will be responsible for defining the systems architecture and providing technical leadership for the CDS Solutions team. In this role, reporting to the Director, Software and Systems Engineering, CDS Solutions, you will help shape an innovative digital diagnostics portfolio of new offerings that use machine learning and AI technology to improve clinical outcomes, and you will lead a team of highly skilled software engineers and data scientists to deliver these predictive analytics to healthcare providers via integrated clinical decision support (CDS) solutions . Job Responsibilities
Work closely with other technical teams, business units, hospitals, clinicians, hospital IT teams, and EHR vendors to design CDS solutions that integrate seamlessly into clinical systems and workflows, provide superior utility and usability, and robustly address data privacy, security, authentication, auditing and other essential functions.
Partner with quality and regulatory teams to ensure solutions meet software as a medical device (SaMD) regulatory and quality control requirements as needed.
Leverage healthcare standards to integrate seamlessly into clinical systems and workflows, robustly addressing data privacy, security, authentication, auditing and other essential functions.
Identify and translate clinical, business, and technical strategy and user needs into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives, evaluating and recommending tools and technologies to design a high quality, scalable and extensible new solution platform.
Collaborate with a cross functional team of systems engineers, product managers and clinicians to determine the best design to deliver CDS solutions to hospital customers.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies and standards inside and outside of the healthcare space and evaluate vendor offerings to determine best fit for business needs.
Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the Danaher community and author technical documents of systems and architectures
The essential requirements of the job include:
Advanced degree (Master’s required) in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Software Engineering, or related field.
10 plus years as Technical Architect in healthcare or IT regulated industry experience
Familiarity in Programming languages and frameworks such as C#/JAVA/.Net, React/Angular
Solid understanding of EHR technologies, applications and integration capabilities, interoperability standards with experience in leading technical EHR (e.g. Epic and Cerner) integration efforts using HL7, FHIR, SMART on FHIR.
Experience developing healthcare SaaS solutions, digital health applications for hospitals and consumers, developing and integrating with APIs, and working with popular Cloud platforms such as AWS and MS Azure
Significant experience working with agile software development methods, such as scrum and Kanban.
Choose suitable software and suggest integration methods. Oversee development and implementation of assigned programs and guide teammates.
Experience developing regulated medical device software that strictly adheres to design controls and quality management system requirements
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to anticipate problems to be solved before deployment.
Willingness to travel to other domestic and/or international locations as required (about 10% on average post-pandemic).
