Job summary:
We are looking for a Lead IT Infrastructure and Operations Engineer to join us in managing our team of Support Specialists around the globe in managing the infrastructure and assets across our offices in multiple locations. With a knack for automating the simplest of tasks and ability to simplify the most complex of problems, the engineer will manage our environment and maintain its security posture. An individual with great attention to details, who is genuine, confident, committed and not only passionate about technology, but excited to work in a fun and friendly start-up environment.
The Lead IT Infrastructure engineer will be a powerful asset to our organization and will be responsible for ensuring IT infrastructure is performing at peak performance by automating technology processes and formalizing our asset management program. The candidate will ensure maintenance of essential IT operations, including operating systems, networks, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware. He or she will diligently assess our portfolio of assets, and will ensure platforms are being used efficiently across the organization. Along with that, nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s always up and running.

Responsibilities and tasks:
Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, security updates, support LANs, VPN, Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and network segments
Provides leadership and supervision to the members of the IT Support team, ensuring that appropriate skilled resources are in place to meet required service levels
Support users with endpoint and Operating System issues
Direct involvement in incidents or problems (irrespective of priority) that cause service impact and acts as an escalation point for incidents not being resolved in a timely manner
Provides ITIL Service disciplines, covering Incident, Problem and Change Management
Works with the IT Support team to set SLA criteria for the availability and performance of the IT infrastructure
Responsible for overall system and infrastructure availability and develop a resilient infrastructure to reduce failures
Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
Ensures delivery of individual and team projects allocated within aggressive delivery times
Manages the performance objectives and professional development of the IT Support team including the initiation, monitoring, review and validation of individual training and development plans in line with organizational and business requirements
Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed at BlueOptima:
At Least 5 years total experience in the ITSM domain
At least 2 years’ experience of managing a team (preferably across different time zones)
Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols
Demonstrated technical experience with the following: ACL management, Routing protocols, Network Security, VPN, Firewall, SSL based VPNs
Experience with Linux, Macs and Windows operating systems
Evaluate network performance of on-premise infrastructure and suggest improvements
Ability to work as part of an integrated team that is geographically dispersed, as well as work independently as required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with clustered and highly-available environments
Experience of working with 3rd party service providers
Experience in Powershell or any other scripting languages such as shell/bash/python.
Well versed in generic system administration tasks (Linux and Windows)
Good to have:
Experience with Active Directory management
Good knowledge of IPTables
Experience with Active Directory and AD FS management
