Principal Solution Architect – Automation will develop solution architectures for automation of BMS Drug Development business processes utilizing Business Process Management (BPM), Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other related technologies to help enable BMS to deliver medicines to patients faster. The incumbent will work closely with IT product teams including business stakeholders in Hyderabad and globally to analyze business and technology requirements and define, prototype, and scale automation solutions. The incumbent will work closely with the global GDD Architecture Council and other IT technology organizations to ensure alignment with GDD IT and BMS architecture principles, standards, patterns, and guidelines. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing BPM, RPA and related technologies and will act as a champion for innovation with an eye toward delivering value aligned with the most important priorities of BMS Drug Development. This position will require the incumbent to demonstrate effective teamwork, collaboration, and communication across IT and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement technology solutions that automate business processes across BMS Drug Development utilizing Business Process Management (BPM), Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other related technologies.
Work with Drug Development teams to identify opportunities for automation and recommend the appropriate technology solutions that meet their requirements
Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and other documentation to ensure that technology solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable
Provide technical guidance to developers, testers, and other stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions are implemented correctly
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends and act as a catalyst and champion for innovation
Develop and communicate the process automation technology roadmap for Drug Development
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of experience developing and implementing complex solution architectures
Must be able to develop a strong understanding of the drug development process and the regulatory requirements that apply to technology solutions in the industry
Experience with Business Process Management technologies (e.g., Appian, Pega, Bonitasoft)
Experience with cloud computing technologies and architectures, modern architectures, such as microservices and event driven architecture, and agile software development methodologies
Functional knowledge or prior experience in Lifesciences Research and Development domain is a plus
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including business leadership, business analysts, architects, developers, and other stakeholders.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
