About this role
BT’s financial control framework transformation is a key objective of the BT board and Executive Committee. Significant investment has been made in the last few years to ensure a solid COSO based ICOFR framework. It is critical that the significant transformation programmes in BT, design processes and controls in line with the strong ICOFR framework. Working together with both operational and transformation teams from across the company you will set the objectives, define the accountabilities of the finance controls, while also helping prioritise and delivering continuous improvement and our high level of reporting standards.
You’ll have the following responsibilities
Providing (second Line) assurance that appropriate IT general and automated controls are designed, implemented and effectively operated for BT to comply with ICOFR & India Companies Acat IT Control obligations. Ensuring that the required controls are working correctly throughout the reporting period (year).
Using expert knowledge to provide the senior managers responsible for controls (MDs, Platform Directors and Senior Management Team Members) with the most current guidance on the applicable control requirements.
Managing the liaison between BT and its auditors to agree scoping and approaches to test controls as part of the 3 Lines of Defence governance framework. Developing, managing and leading the required test programme(s) to provide the required management assurance over IT Control effectiveness.
Ensuring that requirements, timelines, quality of information requirements are all understood and delivered by responsible directors. Providing assurance that first line assurance teams have maintained required evidence to give auditors sufficient proof that controls are effective.
Providing assurance that first line assurance teams have robust plans to address control deficiencies and evaluate the impact of ineffective controls.
