Candidates should be expected to perform changes off hours. (Required standard across the IT industry.)

Proxy – Ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with either BlueCode, McAfee,Zscaleror others.

Firewall: Cisco and/orCheckPoint- Ability to make changes onCheckPoint firewalls. Working knowledge on how to create, modify and add/deletefirewall rules(Required). Working knowledge withPacket Analyzersuch asTCPDumponLinuxorUnix type systems. Manage policies andrules management Operationalsupportrequired.CheckPointandCisco firewallexperience strongly preferred.

Network – Experience with Layer 2 and 3 required. Candidate needs to provide information on which products they have used. (Palo AltoorJuniperetc.)

DNS- Candidates must have a solid understanding ofDNSconcepts withinFirewallspace. (DNS Response Policy Zonesetc.)

Documentation, Diagram – Candidate should have worked on and created KB support documents and topologies.

Compliance – Candidates should have worked oncompliance exercises,rule auditsetc.

Provide direct, hands–onFirewall engineeringexpertise to help design, install, and maintain variousfirewall architectures. Troubleshoot and resolve highly technical core service outages and other complexIT system issues. Test and evaluatefirewall systemsto eliminate problems and improve client core enterprise services in support of users. Work effectively with stakeholders, including program and project managers, end-users, and technical staff to develop, test, implement, and sustain criticalIT infrastructureandsecurity architectures. Work in a team–oriented environment that combines technicalFirewall engineeringtalent with business consulting expertise to deliver high quality IT solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience withfirewall architecture, design, testing, development, migration, and integration
• Experience withCOTS firewall infrastructure technologies
• Experience withCisco ASA firewallandCheckpoint Firewalls
• Knowledge of industry best practices for designing, implementing, and maintainingfirewall securityand service availability throughout thesystem life cycle
• Ability to work early and late shifts outside of core hours, when scheduled
• Ability to be hands-on and configurefirewallrule sets and objects in an enterprise environment
• 8570.01–MIAT Level IICertification, includingSecurity+,CCNA Security, orCISSP

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with working as part of a large IT–based team or project
• Experience with one or more of the following:Cisco switches/routersandInfoblox DNS appliances.
• Ability to perform in a diverse work environment
• Possession of excellent troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills
• Possession of excellent client–facing consulting skills
• Checkpoint R80.10-R80.40andCisco ASA/FTD firewalls.
• DNSfor both internal and Internet-facing domains.
• Support forMcAfee Web Gateway proxy servers, PAC-file support, troubleshooting usingQA Web Gateways
• The candidates should have a working knowledge of theTCP/IP stackand must be able to troubleshoot complex problems in a large-scale enterprise.
• UseFiremonto processfirewall queue requestsand verify colleagues’ work forFirewallrequests
• UseDNSadmin portal,MS AD DNSandInfoBloxto processDNSqueue requests for internal and Internet domains
• Support on-demand requests for deployments/upgrades/patches/troubleshooting, etc.
• Point person forNOC/Mission Controlto triage outages; the person would, presumably, be available instantly and could engage other engineers if needed
• Complete scheduled changes thatInternet Engineeringneeded to make after hours (eg.DNS, pac file,firewall, etc), assuming adequate skill-level and availability of other engineers
• Strong proficiency with English is required
