Role purpose
The Solution Architect proactively drives the enterprise through transformation and optimization initiatives. The Solution Architect’s scope of activities includes
deep understanding of business goals, objective and business outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes for the assigned initiative(s)
understanding and applying existing, new and emerging technologies to transform and optimize business and operating models that the organisation has agreed to invest in
support principal architect and lead architects with necessary information required for analysing strategic direction and any decision-making process
is responsible for designing “to-be” solutions for system (applications, processes and information), shared infrastructure services, and shared application services and components to enable and drive targeted business outcomes.

Key accountabilities
Translates Project requirements to Solutions Architecture
Understands business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determines corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the project’s targeted business outcomes.
Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and documents all solution architecture design and analysis work.
Analyse the technology industry, competitors and market trends, and determines their potential impact on the proposed solution.
Leads Solutions Design and Analysis
Leads evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, value-streams, business requirements and enterprise standards.
Creates architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects and systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information).
Creates reference architectures focused on detailed design principles, decision points, detailed APIs, major systems and dependencies between business and IT.
Manages and develops the architecture for a broader scope of projects or products, working closely with application architects that manage and design architecture for a single project or product or initiative.
Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes.
Designs and directs the governance activities associated with ensuring solutions architecture assurance and compliance.
Help lead architect with the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.
Develops a roadmap for the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from current to future state
Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
Identifies the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact of the solutions architecture.
Facilitates and Collaborates to Deliver Business Outcomes
Works closely with the program management office (PMO) or project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised throughout the project or product lifecycle.
Works closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Provides consulting support to application architects within agile teams to ensure the project or product is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.
Consults with application and infrastructure development projects and products to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.
Supports a community of practice (CoP), guiding and helping agile teams, product owners, and application architects to align with the overall enterprise architecture governance and assurance.

Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
Ten or more years of experience in IT systems with at least five or more years of experience working as Solution Architect within Finance & Billing functional domain.
Specialist in an Finance, Billing & Fraud function and services (e. g., AP, AR, GL, mediation, integrated billing, and Fraud Management)
Experience in the following would be advantageous: SAP ERP/ S/4,SAP Hanna , Kenan, webMethods, SAP PI/PO, Subex FM system.
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms and processing environments
Certifications required – TOGAF, Certified Architect (CA), Zachmann, SAFE agile
Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
Detailed knowledge of information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
Excellent analytical and technical skills.
Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture.
Familiarity with basic graphical modelling approaches, tools and model repositories.
Ability to work creatively and analytically to solve business problems and propose solutions
Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management.
Understanding of different agile methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments.
Organizationally savvy and understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics.
Balance the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions and organization goals.
Rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
