Role purpose
This position is part of Indian team responsible for the support of a Virtualisation infrastructure along with VDI platform management. This role will provide hands-on 3rd level operational support for internal customers. The role requires flexibility to work on callout or weekend and occasional out of hours work. Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technology.
Key accountabilities
Managing IT Infrastructure process management operations activities.
Manage the dynamics, constantly searching for creative ways to elevate the capabilities of technology systems to meet operational needs.
Ensuring company policies and procedures are adhere.
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across other business functions.
Address customer issues, incident and Problem Management.
Develop relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners to assess their technology, support, and security needs.
Coordination with other teams for operational tasks.
Align for BAU and Project activities.
Flexible to perform On-Call, Out of office hours activities.

Role specific requirements
Skills & Experience
In depth Technical knowledge of VMware Virtualization platform.
Understanding and Technical knowledge of Windows, Cisco UCS, vSphere, vSAN, NSX, DNS, DHCP, vRA, vROPS.
VMware ESXi Management and Troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issues.
Experience in backup and recovery of Virtual machines and virtual servers
Strong knowledge of PowerShell, PowerCli scripting for automation.
Experience in VM template design and leveraging vCenter Operations Manager to right size, virtual servers.
Advanced understanding of vSphere platform management, deployment and design.
Hands on experience of Cisco UCS configuration, deployment, firmware upgrade.
Experience installing/provisioning all UCS domain components, including fabric interconnects, chassis, blades, service profiles, pools, policies, templates, and firmware
Hands on experience of VMware patching process using Update Manager and CLI tools.
Good understanding & working knowledge on Linux and Microsoft OS.
Experience using a ticket management system for work prioritization and daily workload management
Knowledge in containerization technologies.
Minimum of 10 + years of relevant work experience
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or Engineering (computer science, IT pref.) or equivalent
VMware Certifications
