Overview

FIC Technology within Investment Bank Technology is responsible for managing end to end technology related to FX, Emerging Markets, Rates, Credit and Listed Derivatives businesses. Within it, the Core Trading Technologies (CTT) team is responsible for management of Deutsche Bank’s premier Ultra Low Latency trading platform spanning 20 data centres in 4 regions and providing algorithmic execution, market data and post-trade services on over 4000 UNIX machines. You will be working on innovative automation and SRE projects to deliver best of class compute to these revenues generating trading estate.

Your key responsibilities

Roadmap and deliver ULL UNIX/Linux server hardware and OS refresh and colocation infrastructure expansion programmes.

Perform system specific tuning such as CPU, real-time threads, TCP/IP, network NIC card, memory, OS upgrades, etc.

Use ServiceNow, Jira and other modern workflow management systems to respond to rapidly respond to client requests.

Your skills and experience

10+ years of experience with either Linux (SLES or RHEL) and UNIX (Solaris): upgrades, patching and configuration Management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis, and capacity planning.

Knowledge of advanced Linux Kernel tuning and optimization, systems performance hierarchy principles, latency and jitter reduction enhancement, BIOS configurations and tunings, Low Latency & Throughput, Linux real-time kernel, kernel bypass (such as OpenOnload, VMA), FIFO, RR and CFS Scheduling.

Experience of Server hardware, CPU technology, IO subsystem, Fabric Switches, InfiniBand, various Ethernet hardware.

Comprehensive understanding the principles of TCP/IP, routing, client/server programming, the design of Consistent network-wide file system layout, Ethernet, bonding, PCIe Technologies.

Knowledge and good (strong for VP) working experience with various protocols & services: NFS, NIS, DNS, LDAP, DHCP, TCP/IP, UDP, IGMP, FTP, SFTP, TFTP, NTP, GPS, PTP, SSH.
