The primary responsibility of this role is to develop a strong understanding of Eaton’s electrical product offerings at the component and assembly levels and be proficient in the configuration of assemblies in Bid Manager (software calculation tool). Business Support Engineers must consistently exercise the highest level of technical and commercial expertise, discretion and judgment to support the sales and marketing organization and their customers on behalf of Eaton Corporation.
This exciting role offers opportunity to:
1. Partner with the product management team to debug, update, and advance the pick tables in each of the Bid Manager takeoffs.
2. Maintain, demonstrate and expand a high level of expertise in product knowledge and specification interpretation of Electrical low and medium voltage assemblies with their respective devices and all other Eaton products as they pertain to bid manager takeoffs.
3. Update the pick tables in Bid Manager according to a robust development process that begins with requirement document, software detail changes, extensive testing, and release to the QA and Production environment.
4. Collaborate with the Bid Manager software development team in Pune to advance the team’s capability
5. Perform the requested tasks in an efficient and accurate manner
6. Provide monthly score card updates on the number of requests, progress, and a backlog of requests.
7. Suggest and implement process improvement ideas to speed up the implementation of bid manager requests in a more efficient manner.
8. Develop a healthy working relationship with the CA team for effective problem resolution and guidance.
9. Prepare and maintain records, reports, etc, also update all the process trackers in real-time to get a better insight of the workload.
10. Able to conduct the technical product knowledge sharing sessions to improve teams’ technical capabilities
11. Should be able to identify training required and create training plans to bridge the technical product skill gap.
Qualifications
Requirement:
Education level required: Graduate in Engineering (Electrical)
Years and area of experience required: Minimum 5-8 years of experience in LV & MV Switchgear Industry
Technical knowledge:
Good understanding of technical aspects of switchgear Components, Assemblies, and their related applications
Strong problem solving, and product troubleshooting skills and be able to understand and resolve customer Tier-1 and Tier-2 issues independently
Should be able to interpret customer specifications, drawings, and schematics
Advance excel knowledge and data analysis skills
Should have a basic understanding of ERP, PLM, CRM, and other enterprise-wide tools
Soft skills:
Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
Self-Motivated to identify and prioritize assigned work
Strong technical and analytical skills.
Abilities within Adobe and Microsoft Outlook.
