Information Security System Administrator and Data Management Specialist

The opportunity
The IT Risk Management function creates and maintains EY Technologies’ risk management framework, processes, tooling, and strategy. Our primary objectives within our team are to enable IS to build a risk-aware culture, reduce IT risk, defend against internal and external threats, and protect client and EY data.

Your key responsibilities
We’re looking for a System Administrator and Data Management specialist to join our team! Our ideal candidate is a person who is passionate about both the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of our IT Risk Management tools, as well as devising and implementing efficient and secure processes for data management with attention to all technical and quality aspects. This person understands that the user experience (UX) in our tools is critical to business success and risk reduction. Our team thrives on sharing knowledge, and we expect our candidate to do the same, actively seeking to train and educate others on the tools we use to help the business make risk-related decisions. This is a key role supporting broader risk management activities, and touches technology operations across EY.
You will be responsible for maintenance and reliable operation of IT Risk Management software tools
Automating and integration of processes where necessary
Problem solve system errors with the help of our service delivery team or investigating data management issues by partnering with various stakeholders
Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of tooling
Perform regular implementation of appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
Support helpdesk inquiries, making sure all application issues are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
You will seek opportunities to automate, optimize performance, consolidate and simplify dashboards
You will continuously look for innovative data cleanup solutions using new tools and technology and contribute to thought leadership at EY
You will educate and train your colleagues and clients to build reports and dashboards
Aid in the development and execution of a risk reporting strategy, including leading a working group to define metrics and source data
Maintain a portfolio of executive level risk reporting
Align with industry standard on risk reporting practices, and ensure compliance with reporting standards including templates, EY branding, and associated protocol
Responsibilities, Qualifications, Certifications
Skills and attributes for success
Contribute to projects with a focus on ensuring production readiness
A strong customer focus, with the ability to manage expectations appropriately, to deliver a superior customer experience and build long-term relationships
Experience with Agile project management methodology
Creating and implementing governance for effective data management
Experience with large data sets, analysing data, extracting relevant information and producing impactful and effective reporting dashboards and visual solutions user-friendly reports for a diverse set of users
Proven capability and desire to develop junior staff, build high performing teams and effectively delegate with appropriate levels of support
Ability to communicate effectively with business partners, software developers, project managers, product owners, data engineers, data scientist and analysts
Project management skills and experience managing multiple projects
A risk mindset
System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
Experience managing the communication to senior leaders in relation to our risk management program
Experience in developing and executing reporting strategies
Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
Strong judgment and analytical ability
Ability to communicate and gain support for initiatives
Strong English language skills; excellent writing, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills are required
Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and motives and to lead cross cultural teams.
An ability to utilize core risk and controls skills in a broad range of projects both in a traditional internal audit and in advisory projects aimed at assisting in the implementation of controls / improvements.
To qualify for the role you must have
3-5 years database, network administration, or system administration experience
Experience with scripting and automation tools
Experience with RSA Archer
A proven track record of developing and implementing large software products
Intermediate SQL / data preparation skills are needed with additional programming in languages such as Python a huge bonus
3+ years of hands-on reporting design and development experience using one or more tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, Spotfire, MicroStrategy, Houdini
One or more of the following or equivalent certifications preferred: Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Security Processional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) in related area, CIPP, CIPT
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience in IT Risk Management and/or Information Security disciplines
Experience in communicating to all levels of management, clients and vendors
Ability to appropriately balance internal functional needs with business impact and benefit
Skilled in executive level presentations and briefings
Solid knowledge and working experience in governance, risk and compliance as applies to technology
Experience on a cloud based big data platform such as AWS and Azure
Experience in engaging with both technical and non-technical audience
Experience in (or a willingness to learn) how to performance tune dashboards/ reports and apply security roles
