Position Summary
This unique opportunity is ideal for a motivated technologist with a broad skillset to deliver technical solutions to enable our workforce in a fast-paced environment. You will tackle problems, repair relationships, and document technical interactions related to Windows 10, macOS clients, and our infrastructure systems. To help deliver these services, we are looking for an advanced Technical Support Specialist with a deep knowledge of modern end user computing solutions including mobile technologies. In this hybrid role, you will also develop system administration skills to support the server and network infrastructure for the company. You will be empowered to own and deliver technologies that enable our business users to be agile and flexible in terms of the way they work.
Primary Responsibilities
Evaluate and recommend new technology as it relates to the end user.
Provide IT Operational support by resolving incidents, requests, and problems associated with various IT systems.
JAMF / SCCM package creation administration and support.
Interface with other Core Services teams to solve complex issues.
Create / Maintain support solutions and documentation for service desk.
Ensure ongoing communications regarding system issues/activities with all stakeholders: department executives and managers, end users, IT staff, vendors, customers, etc.
Proactively automate, streamline and simplify engineering processes and routine tasks
Aid technical staff leads on large complex projects.
PC/Desktop Support: Provide end user PC support requiring onsite resolution for Windows and MAC.
Operations: Deploy, maintain, and execute procedures to make sure the onsite technology is effective and reliable. You will provide direct support to product development labs and our IT development team. For systems running in our local data center, you will use the appropriate tools and utilities to facilitate operations monitoring including backups and logging. When you receive an error alert, you will promptly engage to resolve it.
Network: Deploy and maintain site network infrastructure to ensure performance and reliability for local LANs, Internet, and corporate WAN connectivity.
Telecomm: Provide first-level support for telephone operations in multiple offices, including local vendor coordination as needed for adds/moves/changes and system maintenance.
Data center: Work with the Colo staff to inspect the operation of electrical, HVAC, fire protection to ensure reliability
Equipment: Maintain computer hardware; ensure cleanliness and organization in equipment rooms; verify all equipment and cabling is properly installed for safety, reliability, and neatness.
Documentation: Create and update run books so we always have up-to-date configurations for production hardware, software, and networks. Document and maintain installation standards & practices. Maintain daily activity, task, and system status information for standard reporting systems & processes.
Access management: Maintain accurate and updated IT Asset Management inventory to keep track of the equipment we have. Work with ITAM team to produce asset reports and verify inventory regularly.
Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Administrator-level knowledge of client management systems: Configuration Manager, Jamf, and Microsoft Intune
Excellent understanding and promotion of end user technology standards for hardware, OS, core applications, and peripherals
Demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities of Windows 10 and macOS clients
Strong knowledge of directory services (LDAP, AAD, AD) and M365 stack
Working hands-on familiarity with networking (TCP/IP) and server equipment, operating systems (Windows 2008/2012/Linux), infrastructure application (DNS/SMTP/DHCP, etc.), storage systems, and IT infrastructure operations
Operates under minimal direction
Good problem solving skills: ability to fix a complex issue down to potential contributing components, identify root case if possible or capture supporting evidence for customer concern
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience in a technical discipline related to information technology that demonstrates technical competency
Minimum of 3 year as desktop support analyst or equivalent
Show us 4+ years of strong customer service experience
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
