Broad Function:
We are seeking an experienced Windows System Administrator with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills and extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems. In addition, expertise in Windows patch updates, antivirus software, firewall management, and working knowledge of ticketing systems like Zoho or Freshdesk is required.
Role & Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, including servers and workstations.
Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to Windows systems.
Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery preparedness.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within the Windows environment.
Deploy security updates, patches, and software installations across the network.
Implement and maintain antivirus software, ensuring systems are protected from malware and other security threats.
Configure and manage firewalls to enhance network security and control access to resources.
Utilize ticketing systems like Zoho or Freshdesk to track and resolve user-reported issues.
Collaborate with other IT team members to plan, implement, and support system upgrades and migrations.
Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving technical problems and answering inquiries.
Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Conduct system performance analysis and capacity planning to optimize system resources.
Monitor system logs and alerts, proactively addressing potential issues and security vulnerabilities.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to Windows system administration, patch management, antivirus software, firewall management, and ticketing systems.
Key skills required for the role: –
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Windows System Administrator.
In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows Server and Windows client platforms).
Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management within a Windows environment.
Proficiency in virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Experience with managing and troubleshooting network services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, VBScript) for automation and task automation.
Expertise in Windows patch management, including the deployment and testing of updates.
Proficient in configuring and managing antivirus software to protect systems from malware and security threats.
Experience in configuring and managing firewalls to enhance network security and control access.
Working knowledge of ticketing systems like Zoho or Freshdesk for incident tracking and management.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and end-users.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent are a plus.
Good knowledge of TeamViewer software for remote support and troubleshooting is must.
