Flatirons Solutions Looking for Senior IT Procurement Specialist at Chennai, Tamil Nadu Full Time

This position will have daily reporting responsibility to the Director if Information Technology Services and Hosting as well as dotted-line reporting responsibility to Finance. Lead our efforts in developing and implementing plans for the acquisition and maintenance of hardware and software used by our 400+ employees. Provide valuable feedback and guidance in designing the procurement process so it is in-line with current industry standards. This individual establishes purchasing policies for the global enterprise and direct purchasing programs accordingly.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership in guiding the procurement process for continuous improvement; leverage current systems where appropriate and automate where possible

Be proactive in addressing time-bound deliverables; anticipate renewals; advise management of such renewals throughout the calendar year

Respond to IT Procurement requests for hardware, software, and services.

Liaise with technology teams and vendors to ensure delivery time requirements are met

Negotiate pricing and terms with minimal direction (ability to recognize when to escalate issues to management and SME’s)

Maintain accurate procurement records

Resolve issues with orders such as incorrect equipment ordered/shipped, arranging for returns, etc.

Ensure that hardware and software assets are tracked appropriately and that they can be reconciled with Service Desk Asset Management

Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software and work to establish an “effective life cycle” so that outdated equipment, etc. can be removed from service in a timely fashion. Arrange for disposal of surplus equipment. (E-cycle old hardware and secure data destruction)

Participate in contract negotiations and vendor selection.

Maintain relationships with vendors and work to get discounts whenever possible.

Monitor and report on IT capital expenditure spending

Manage vendor audits as required

Special projects as requested

Ensure compliance with all IT and corporate purchasing and approval procedures & policies

Understands and adheres to all requirements of the Quality Management System and Information Security Management System.

Requirements

Education/Experience

Minimum of Five (5-8) years’ experience in IT Procurement and/or Asset Management (Service Desk experience a plus)

3-5 years of experience in Information Technology department required, serving global customers/employees

Experience in global purchasing environment

Computer Skills

Proficiency with office automation software (MS Office Suite, including Excel to review large data sets)
