Job Description –
Act as primary technical contact for providing consultative, proactive, and/or reactive support to assigned managed services and maintenance accounts/customers. Escalation support for field engineers and Tier 1 and Tier 2 support engineers and for complex networking issues from internal and managed service customers. Review network design, configuration, events, and incidents and provide recommendation reports according to Cisco best practices to manage service customers on a quarterly basis. Oversee planning, design, implementation, and operation of customer networking projects. Participate in the specification of customer requirements and implementation plans for technically advanced internetworking solutions. Manage implementation of customer network projects, from both technical and communication aspects. Provide technical consulting, network implementation, device configuration, router, and switch installation, and troubleshooting services remotely through the network operation centre. Perform advanced-level troubleshooting of network and network device problems. Serve as a liaison to vendors and/or third-party providers as assigned. Provide remote technical assistance to other resources and to managed services and maintenance customers. Provide mentoring to other operations resources, and act in a lead technical or adjunct management capacity as directed. Provide recommendations to the network team on optimizing the toolsets used for monitoring and managing the customers and work with the infrastructure team to evaluate new toolsets and solutions. Remote Diagnosing and correcting technical problems with LAN, WAN, and WLAN network components, and end-device network clients (including handheld devices) Remotely Maintain, troubleshoot and escalate networking systems including but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems and end-user network clients Install, configure and test updates and upgrades to network hardware and firmware. Working with load balancers such as Cisco WAAS, F5, Riverbed etc. Support multiple technical systems in 24 x 7 environment operational environments with high uptime requirements. Varied shift schedules may include day, night and weekend hours, however primarily US shift.
Mandatory skills:
· Strong Palo alto experience
· Thorough understanding of LAN, WAN and 802.11 based wireless architecture.
· Configuration of VPN and DMVPN Solutions using firewalls and routers Must have strong Routing, Switching and RF knowledge, Cisco Wireless and Networking.
· 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and supporting wireless infrastructure and devices (Access points, wireless controllers, etc.)
· Configuration of both autonomous and Light Weight Access Point Solutions, including Clean Air, Wireless Control System, WCS, WLCs etc.
· Min. 5+ years of experience in Cisco network (Route/Switch) configuration and troubleshooting such as VLAN, VTP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP etc.
· Excellent customer interface skills are a must.
· Knowledge of LAN and Routing protocols. Cisco certifications of CCIE can be an advantage. WAN and Routing – VPLS BGP, OSPF, GRE.
· Wireless Networking – Cisco WLC, ACS – Multi-access pointsNetwork Monitoring – Solar winds or similar
