About the Role
Server and application administration with deep involvement in software engineering processes and tools, looking after our software engineering teams’ productivity and user experience in multiple business units with different functions across our divisions, focusing on both process and DevOps tools. A IT DevOps Tools Expert within our team will be exposed day to day to activities such as: sever application deployment, performance & reliability optimization (in test and production environments); interaction with software engineers regarding topics such as build environment troubleshooting, new process requirements, requests for new plugins, tools, configuration changes; interaction with other departments in IT around infrastructure operations such as DBA, storage, cloud, network, etc. The DevOps Tools Expert will ideally have experience themselves in information technology and software engineering, where they will be able to do scripting for server administration and automation at the least, and work on application (Shell scripting, Groovy, Python, Java) or web development (PHP, Javascript, Java) at the most.
What You Will Do
Administer, configure, implement or maintain DevOps systems like
continuous integration / build automation on large Scale (Jenkins / Hudson, Bamboo)
repository and artifact management (jFrog Artifactory)
version control (Google Gerrit, Atlassian Bitbucket, Subversion)
Proactively research and recommend improvements for DevOps/SDLC/ALM solutions, tools and processes
Develop and apply automated procedures for all kind of repeating activities, processes and reportings
Design of processes and tool suites for source code management, version control and output delivery in close collaboration with the respective integration and development teams
Document system architecture of solutions or complete application landscapes
Assist business units with maintenance, modification and troubleshooting of access control rules, user groups and roles
Troubleshoot functional issues of all kind inside the tool landscape as well as the infrastructure around
Gather organizational requirements for processes & tools classify them as immediate/short/medium/long term needs
Proactively monitor the system behavior to ensure availability for the user community
Contribution to training material, configuration and process documentations and organization of training courses
Suggest, validate and perform improvements and apply these while rollouts or upgrades
Follow up with IT infrastructure teams on actions such as changes, upgrades, system patching, etc.
What You Need
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle, Build Automation, Code Quality Analysis and Reporting
Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment
5+ years of experience and very good understanding in DevOps tools & processes and supporting methodologies (e.g. Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc)
Strong experience in administering Linux environments
Strong experience in administering build automation tools on scale like Jenkins
Experience with managing Docker and/or authoring Dockerfiles
Experience in source control management tools such as Git or Subversion
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical manuals and design papers
What is Nice to Have
Experience using AWS, GCP and/or Azure
Experience in administering repository and artifact management tools such as Artifactory
Experience administering RDBMSs (e.g. MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres)
Experience configuring Apache and/or Nginx
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel
Be willing to work in an office in Bangalore, India
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
