We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Delivery Head
In this role, you will:
Manage the delivery of multiple customer onboarding initiatives on the global platform with the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and portfolio governance
Lead a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team consisting of data engineers, full stack developers, data analysts, and delivery professionals to deliver advanced data and analytics technical solutions
End to end accountability for multiple technical deliveries or services, identifying and developing the most appropriate technology solutions to meet customer needs as part of the strategic vision
Appoint and manage pod leads to deliver business use cases on a global scale – Ensure projects are mobilised for success, and optimise resource allocation, such that they are fulfilling the highest priority items
Manage communications with key business stakeholders, and reporting progress in line with the PPM/ IT Portfolio Delivery Lead
Work with the Wholesale Change & Delivery Tribe Leads to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery
Define Agile project working approach and support all team members to follow the same methodology
Ensure awareness, involvement and support from key stakeholders by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communications on the project status throughout its lifecycle
Plan and design the programme, and proactively monitor progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action where required
Work with the product owners & DevOps teams to ensure that the lead-time to deploy change is continuously improving, by adopting high levels of automation across testing and production deployments
Assist business stakeholders with the decomposition of complex business requirements into Epics and User Stories that can be delivered by our technology teams via their respective backlogs
Proactively plan and execute periodic IT Service Management activities such as Service Resilience Planning & testing, Capacity Planning etc
Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered
Responsible for automating the continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement
Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas such as cyber security and regulations pertaining to data privacy, consent, data residency etc
Liaise with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand and drive the product or service’s direction, aligning to strategic vision
Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service, partnering with the Engineering Centre Heads and Service Management Leads
Ensure the solutions designed/developed/deployed are fully compliant with the HSBC standards and control framework
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Outstanding project and programme management experience, which include communications capabilities, decision making and problem solving skills, lateral thinking, analytical and interpersonal skills
Extensive experience in leading management information and analytics projects of various sizes, through the full project lifecycle – including detailed system/ software lifecycle, across multiple clients, with multiple teams, vendors, interfaces and stakeholders involved
A record of accomplishment of delivering change by architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade technical solutions, preferably in a financial institution
Real passion for elegance and efficiency in software engineering and always strives for continuous improvements via automated processes
Experience in Agile Project methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Knowledge of and experience in a Banking and Financial Markets context
Excellent understanding and proven experience of Programme and Project Management methodologies, including especially Agile / DevOps
Ability to direct and influence people in a matrix-orientated environment and establish working partnerships at a junior and senior organizational level
Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Executives across the business
Outstanding relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group
Change agent with proven ability of implementing large scale organizational, procedural, technology and people-related change programmes
Detail orientated with the proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language to recognise to the global remit of this role
Strong financial analytical background and proven ability in financial/analytical reasoning, including being able to contextualise financial data into business activities and conclusions
Experience of delivering large scale change programmes within a technology organization
Strong leadership, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor approach to different levels of stakeholders; proven skills to lead teams and motivate others to achieve objectives
Overall experience in 15+ years which includes managing projects, leading agile teams
Strong knowledge of programme and project management methodologies including Scrum/Agile
Expertise in Agile, DevOps, Lean methodologies
Strong understanding of finances and budgeting processes
Relationship management (both internal and external) and networking skills.
Excellent 360 degree influencing, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple work threads at one time
International experience or experience of dealing with international resources (project team and customer base will be dispersed across multiple locations)
Ability to work effectively to strict timelines and deadlines.
Ability to work with Technology teams and business users (Ops, FO, Data, Compliance, Regional heads)
