We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Business Analyst
ITID Service Management (SM) function is a globally managed function that ensures HSBC IT infrastructure and applications are managed and run to industry leading standards. This is achieved through an IT service management process framework and toolset and by measuring, monitoring and reporting on both adherences to standards and quality of IT service performance.
SM consists of a number of global and regional teams supported by a global Business Management (BM) team. SM BM perform business performance management for the SM function across 2 core areas: commercial / financial; and headcount / resource management
The role holder will not be subject to close supervision so will be expected to exercise initiative in proactively overcoming obstacles to success. He/She will be expected to adopt a flexible approach in terms of working hours and travel to other locations. The role holder receives policy and general guidance but has autonomy and latitude when undertaking the job. He/She will also be expected to “think outside the box” and respond flexibly, taking decisions in the interest of customer / business needs and service.
Delivery of Global Annual Operating Plan ~ $100m (RTB, CTB, & CTA) across multiple customers, suppliers and cost centers.
Ownership of financial plan submission, forecasting, reporting, and tracking it throughout the year for the costs, for e.g.: people/3rd party cost, travel and entertainment cost, hardware/software cost etc.
Preparation of decks and presenting the overview to the senior stakeholders on Costs, Billing & Recharges, and other ad-hoc requests.
Publish Monthly dashboards and cost walks to the domain leads, highlighting the variances and signifying the ways to regulate it.
Reviewing accruals and cost workings, highlighting issues and working with multiple stakeholders in resolving the issues.
Control & governance around vendor management & third party spend (HW/SW purchases, IT Services etc.)
Engage with domains leads on financial matters including targets, perm cap, span of control, and other organization design principles.
Manage and control function’s budget and expenditure across the budget lifecycle, including the identification of cross-team efficiencies.
Lead review of inbound and outbound FTE boundary changes ensuring accuracy.
Liaise with domains to create and then maintain the target operating model.
Data management in Pioneer including expeditious resolution of any discrepancies.
Preparing fortnight presentations for the senior management, tracking action items and log maintenance.
Contribute to EXCO and senior management decision-making through use of management information, analytics and forums.
Identify areas for improvement in the ITID SM function on cost saving opportunities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:
Preferred experience working in financial services.
Understands financial planning and the processes like rate setting, cost recharges etc.
Preferred experience in applications used in ITID (Apptio, Pioneer, Discover, Fusion, GPDM, TPS Tool etc.)
Understanding of IT project and portfolio taxonomy and interfaces between GPDM, Clarity and Billing.
Understanding of cost management policy including Third party spend processes & IT cost board approval workflow.
Advanced MS Excel & PowerPoint skills are required.
Ability to strategically think through problem statements, articulate complex issues concisely and then in turn provide options to executives.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including creation of content for executive committees.
Ability to build relationships globally through communication and influence, and then maintain through stakeholder management.
Making sound decisions and leading through conditions of uncertainty.
