We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a key leadership role as the Telecommunication Services Risk and Controls Senior Manager.
In this role, you will:
The primary responsibility of the Telecommunication Services Risk and Controls Senior Manager is to provide specialist risk and control advice, challenges and insights including promoting assessment and monitoring of the Telecommunication Services control environment, including DDoS controls.
Acting as trusted advisor for Telecommunication Services organization on how to properly manage their operational risk and all items related (Risk assessments, Control environment, Issues management, Audit management, Compliance management)
Ensuring that Telecommunication Services organization complies with HSBC’s internal policies and external regulations and compliance requirements
Ensuring that the Telecommunication Services organization owned controls are designed and operating effectively
Managing the promotion of accountable risk and control decision-making based on quality data and commercial analysis
Providing risk consultancy to proactively assess technology platforms and services,
Ensuring any control gaps are remediated by working closely with platform and technology leads, service owners and subject matter experts.
Engaging with 1LoD, 2LoD and 3LoD teams (e.g. Internal Audit, CCO Tech, Cybersecurity, various control owners, etc.) as required in relation to Audits, Control testing or Regulatory / External Reviews.
Managing efforts to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk, including behaviors
Providing Telecommunication Services organization with updates on any relevant changes to policy or projects related to operational risk that have an impact on their area of responsibility.
Promoting robust risk management practices within the Telecommunication Services organization by providing necessary trainings
Continuously transforming Telecommunication Services Risk and Controls processes and operations through simplification and automation
Leading risk and controls discussions at the varius governance forums such as TS RCMM, ITID RCMM, etc.
Leading a high performing team and promoting culture of collaboration, empowerment, and career development
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. ITIL foundation or higher is desirable but not essential
University degree required or equivalent experience
A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others’ compliance with relevant regulatory processes
Proven management skills and experience in various roles (e.g. technology and business) leading dynamic organization
A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
Excellent communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills, focusing on remote and written communications, inclusive of ability and experience in interacting with higher positions
Excellent decision making and problem solving ability
Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems
Experience working in a team environment using appropriate communication and planning skills, preferably in a matrix functional environment
Strong analytical skills to understand and use metrics to draw conclusions
Solid partner/stakeholder interaction – customer oriented.
Ability to deal with conflicting situations with success – negotiation skills.
Ability to make recommendations based on both subjective and objective information – consulting skills
