IT MANAGER – JOB DESCRIPTION As an IT Manager in the education industry, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our institution’s information technology systems. You will collaborate with various departments to align IT strategies with educational goals, implement technology solutions, and ensure the security and integrity of our data. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance the educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the institution’s educational objectives.
Identify emerging technologies and trends to enhance educational offerings.
Create and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and optimization of the network, servers, and hardware. Manage the deployment and maintenance of software applications used for teaching and administrative purposes. Ensure the availability and reliability of IT services, including internet connectivity and email systems.
Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce data security policies and procedures. Stay current with data privacy regulations and ensure compliance. Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of IT professionals. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
User Support: Provide technical support to staff and faculty, resolving IT-related issues promptly. Develop and deliver IT training programs to improve end-user proficiency. Vendor Management: Evaluate and select IT vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships. Monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) and ensure vendors meet their commitments.
Project Management: Lead IT projects, from planning to implementation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with other departments to align IT projects with educational initiatives.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience as an IT manager or similar leadership role in the education industry.
• Strong knowledge of educational technology trends and best practices. • Excellent project management skills.
• Experience with data security and compliance.
• Proficiency in system administration, network management, and cloud technologies.
