Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay Looking for Manager/System Administrator – Operating Systems at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India Full Time

• Development Environment Maintenance, Hardware, Various Operating system installation, Troubleshooting.
• Experience primarily in Linux (Ubantu)/ Windows Server Administration, Mail server management (round cube webmail server), proxy server for internet.

Key Responsibilities

• Install/Configure and troubleshoot the Linux based Systems (Ubuntu)
• Maintain System Security vulnerabilities by fixing/patching/ upgrade, installing SSL certification
• Ability to work independently, as well as, collaborate effectively in a team oriented environment
• L2 and L3 support to the Linux/ windows based Operating Systems
• Perform tasks for Backup and Recovery Management including High Availability.
• Windows Server Administration capability and familiarity with Linux Servers troubleshooting, resolving all Technical issues related to our software/ networks and the range of Products and Services.
• Work with LAN/Network personnel to ensure compatibility with LAN applications and peripheral hardware to provide end users with reliable and stable working environment.
• Perform User Access Management. Experience in installation and maintenance of Roundcube mail server, proxy server on Ubantu.
• Perform/Implement Security Monitoring and audit to identify any possible security intrusions
• Set up Monitoring, Administration Operation practices
• Patch management, troubleshooting, scripting
• Troubleshoot issues regarding capacity, uptime, escalated issues and quality
• Install and configure software and hardware

Technical Experience

• Should be well versed with Linux and windows administration and maintenance activities
• Should have experience in System Admin profile
• Co-ordinate with IIT Bombay Datacenter helpdesk team to get issues resolved
• Revert to enquiries and to deal effectively with a broad range of issues
• Need to obtain data to assist in the investigation and resolution of problems
• Managing Desktop/ laptops, installing and configuring as required
• Good Hands-On Experience in Installation, configuration & Troubleshooting of Linux Operating Systems
• Good Knowledge & experience on Back-up, Restore technologies
• Good Administration Concepts, Event Log Monitoring
• Active Directory, Backup, Scripting (PowerShell)
• Networking technologies (TCP/ IP, DNS, DHCP), DNS management
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.

Desired Experience/competencies

• Able to work under pressure, etc needed to carry out this job
• Should be able to work independently
• Project delivery and good communication skills.
• Diploma/BS/BA in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 3-4 years relevant work experience in Server Management, Hosting Service
