We are looking for a software enabling and optimization engineer with a strong desire to dive deep into complex problem solving, with passion for computer systems software development. You will part of our global team to help deliver high quality, efficient and scalable software tools and programmability solutions portfolio to our customers. What you will do As a software enabling and optimization engineer focused on packet processing, you will be responsible for: Analyze requirements, design, development and unit testing of various network and transport layer protocols for our highly complex and flexible packet processing pipeline to fulfill ever-evolving customer needs and use cases Own definition and development of the new features for both new and existing Datacenter Ethernet products, working closely with architects, other team members, customers, partners and the technical lead Shaping the future of Datacenter Ethernet flexible packet processing pipeline by proactively providing valuable feedback to help influence new products development Debugging complex networking stack issues down to the binary level Delivering high quality, on time product enablement through deep collaboration with our global validation team Ensuring our software deliverables are secure and compliant to Intel’s various processes such as Secure code development, legal compliance etc.
Qualifications
Must have Bachelors in computer science, computer engineering or related discipline, with 5+ years of experience OR masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with 3+ years of experience C / C++ programming, network protocol stack development such as TCP/IP, UDP/IP, socket layer etc. and adjacencies such as libevent, epoll etc. Knowledge of Ethernet networking protocols, TCP/IP stack with strong focus on network and transport layers Knowledge of new and emerging tunneling encapsulating protocols such as VxLAN, NVGRE etc. Knowledge of network benchmarks and performance evaluation methods Knowledge of eBPF, user mode networking and OpenVSwitch/VxLAN/NSH development Strong verbal and written communication, and team player skills Nice to have Hands-on experience with agile software development with continuous integration and delivery Hands-on experience with P4, network protocols and driver development, GCC, Linux etc.Inside this Business Group

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
