We are now seeking a highly motivated and results driven individual to join our Procurement function as Global Category Manager (IT).
Your Focus
As Global Category Manager (IT), you will be responsible to develop and maintain a strategy to source a competitive and cost-effective global portfolio of materials and service in their category.
The role includes year over year savings in the cost of materials and services, continuous improvements in working capital, supplier development and collaborating with suppliers to drive IFF digital strategy and innovation programs.
The role is Bengaluru based and will report to Category Director (IT).
How you will contribute
Contribute significantly to the overall category strategy with Category Director aligning with regional and local strategies with Regional Indirect Material & Sourcing (IM&S) Leads.
Leverage a deep understanding of best practices, sourcing strategies & levers.
Develop subject matter expertise for the portfolio.
Regularly analyze and communicate market intelligence and information to facilitate informed business and customer pricing decisions.
Perform continually spend analysis on assigned categories and sub-categories.
Assess market intelligence and develop full market analysis.
Identify and approve new vendors to diversify supply portfolio.
Execute category and sourcing strategy.
Manage overall Supplier relationships for portfolio.
Develop new and existing supplier partnerships and collaboration to support growth strategy with innovation and technology.
Support technology buying by accessing supplier capabilities.
Reduce non-value added suppliers.
Implement contingency planning to mitigate supply risks.
Work with IT technical teams, procurement COE and corporate functional leads to accelerate adoption of alternate /new technologies, upgrades, products and suppliers.
Develop subject matter expertise for the portfolio.
Regularly analyze and communicate market intelligence and information to facilitate informed business and customer pricing decisions.
Communicate market trends, supply concerns, pricing information to Regional Directors and IM&S on a weekly basis.
Dynamic interaction with the business unit stakeholders.
Provide informed and accurate input into the budget process in a timely fashion.
Update the budget forecast each quarter.
Ensure early alerts on supply/price issues to both GP and Business stakeholders.
Reduction of working capital through payment term negotiation and collaboration with IT leadership group on long terms plans & initiatives.
Job Requirements
What you will need to be successful
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Science/Engineering, Supply Chain or MBA.
At least 7 years of proven track record in Procurement experience.
Experience in Supply Chain or Corporate function services.
Strong knowledge of business practices and financial concepts/impact/analyses.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience in People and Project Management.
CPSM or SPSM or related certification in supply chain or procurement excellence.
Good knowledge of ERP SAP or Oracle.
Experience in identifying, developing and promoting new and existing supplier relationships.
Demonstrated ability to work in cross functional teams.
