Your Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for installing, managing and upgrading Microsoft Windows-based systems and servers They are responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of windows systems. The system administrator seeks to ensure that the performance, reliability and security of the systems is maintained. maintaining the system with patches and upgrades, and security of the systems, ensuring system backup are configured and working. To accomplish this the systems administrator installs software, software upgrades and patches, provides routine automation; maintains security policies; troubleshoots; and provides technical support. This can include the following tasks: Install Windows Servers in host and compute environments, implement high availability, and maintain and monitor server environments, including creating and managing images for deployment. Develop and execute installation and migration strategies, install and configure backup tools. Use tools and techniques to manage disks, volumes, file systems, permissions, sharing, administration, and monitoring. Configuration of disks and volumes, data deduplication, disaster recovery, storage spaces direct and failover clustering solutions. Implement virtualization technologies, implement and configure Hyper-V virtual hard disks and virtual machines, and use Windows Server Containers and Docker. Implement an IP addressing scheme, and set up a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) network infrastructure. Implement a Domain Name Services (DNS) infrastructure, including resource records, zones, and security.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Minimum 4+ years of experience in Windows Infrastructure.
Proficient on VTAM, TCP/IP, APPN along with the process documentation
Ability to provide technical direction and coordination to the resolver groups involved while participating in the Change Control Board and Change Control Process
Experience on SCCM/System Center Configuration Manager along with integration experience with AD/Active Directory and Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V
Demonstrable ability in managing windows server 2008/2012/2016, L2.
Proven expertise to respond to all systems alerts – error indicators, error messages, failures, and peripheral malfunctions
Validated expertise to create and manage user groups, renaming groups, deleting groups
