You Role and Responsibilities
Suitable candidate will join EYs Network Engineering function as a Senior Network Engineer and will work in a team responsible for the design, engineering and implementation of network services across the global Ernst & Young environment. These services are supported by various SDWAN, WAN, LAN, WLAN and Aure Networking products, technologies and vendors across Data Center, Public & Private Cloud and Branch Office environments. Additionally, you will provide consulting services to other teams, and act as a level four escalation point for operational issues.
Extended understanding of BGP and OSPF protocols as well as MPLS network setup required. Experience to work in design and architecture role for large enterprise networks with demonstrating efficient project team collaboration skills within diverse teams embracing infrastructure and Information Security professionals to achieve successful solutions for the business. Both technical and business requirements understanding required. Senior Engineer should lead the design process and support management of existing network deployment acting as the last escalation point of contact.
Strong written and oral communication skills required. Senior Network Engineer must demonstrate experience in maintaining a high-quality documentation of the networks they design as well as making presentations to Technical and Business people.
Deep Cisco knowledge (CCIE certification preferred). SDWAN experience strongly desired. The role requires engineer to lead junior network engineers within project team and actively participate in efforts covering WAN and Internet block design for the branch offices, data centers, cloud connectivity and business to business VPN solutions. Senior Engineer should have a good understanding of Information Security concept.
Design, delivery and L4 escalation support for data network services across the global Ernst & Young environment. These services are standards based, inherently secure, innovative and aligned to business requirements.
Create designs based on industry best practices, sound solid engineering principles while incorporating both local and global requirements. Understanding of SDWAN architecture is required.
Develop solutions design and configuration documentation to be used by the Regional Data Network and Operations teams for implementation and support.
Provide sponsorship and lead technical delivery for projects, programs and initiatives with a focus on fiscal responsibility while delivering on time, in scope and on budget.
Work with the portfolio and service delivery teams to provide consultancy expertise towards developing Business Case and ROM Estimates.
Provide technology expertise for all facets of data networking to enhance quality and facilitate superior solutions which meet business requirements.
Collaborate with appropriate teams to create and gain approval on global technology standards and reference architectures on an ongoing basis
Develop and maintain documentation for configuration guidelines and templates
Research and keep abreast of industry trends and new technology offerings by maintaining engineering relationships with strategic vendors to ensure our technology landscape, reference architectures, designs and configuration standards stays current
Lead all technical aspects of RFI/RFP exercises including document preparation, evaluate vendor technology and service offerings, conduct proof of technology exercises and provide recommendations
Act as a consultant to the other teams for network portfolio
Drive and complete technical network deliverables on assigned projects
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
8- 15-year Network support experience with over 2 years recent experience as technical leadership role, who can contribute with end to end driving the implementation of key industry best practices on technical services around Firewall, Routers, Switches & Load balancer
Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills to represent IBM in front of very Senior technical counterpart from customer side
Independent-thinker and self-starter, who can work well within team environment.
Organizing skills to do multitasking while working on varied technical assignment
Vendor certification (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCI etc.) is desirable
Experience to work with MNC customer on remote support & ready to work in ANZ/UK /US geography.
Strong knowledge on LAN, MPLS, VPN and support experience
Strong conceptual & hands on experience in providing L3 +/SME level support on below products:
SDWAN experience strongly required
Firewall (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Brocade Vyatta)
Routers (Cisco 800, 1000, 1800, 2600, 2800, 2900, 3800, 3900, 7200)
Switches (Cisco 29xx, 3xxx, 4xxx and 65xx series Catalyst switches)
Cisco Nexus Switches (7000, 5000 and 2000 Series)
Load Balancer (Citrix NetScaler OR BIG IP F5)
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Review and recommend network related hardware and software technologies, designs and services that will assist in the support of the firm’s global IT infrastructure
Work with Strategy & Architecture and Regional Data Network teams to help provide new engineering standards for the organisation and help to identify opportunities to enhance existing services
Ensure compliance with infrastructure design methodologies during project work with both the Service Delivery and Regional Data Network teams
Evaluate and recommend different types of network related hardware and software to be supported as “standard components” that will be utilized in support of infrastructure builds
Achieve “first-pass” check of quality in solutions development as it relates to infrastructure
Gain adherence to architecture standards and principles, global product-specific guidelines and local regulatory requirements
Provide infrastructure maintenance support for problem management and incident escalation
Help the firm to achieve excellent ratings during internal and external audits
