About the department

The Data Office is a recently established unit in Global IT with a direct link into the Digital, Data and IT Committee but acting as the counterpart for Line of Business. The focus of the Data Office is to detail and execute Novo Nordisk’s Global Data Strategy to unlock the full potential of data across the enterprise.

Therefore, the Data Office is responsible for developing the Data Foundation capabilities and enable acceleration of business value delivery of various strategic initiatives through their adoption together with implementing data governance for key data domains across the organisation’s data landscape.

As it’s a new unit, the number of employees is growing continuously, aligned to the speed of maturity of the data capabilities within the organisation.

The position

The Data Catalog Architect in GBS works closely with Lead Architect/Product Owner for Data Catalog to foster value creation by supporting Novo Nordisk with the development of Data Catalog capabilities and responsible for implementing Data Catalog capabilities for Novo Nordisk’s data domains across the organisation to deliver on FAIR data principles for all enterprise dataassets. Serve as a trusted advisor for Data Catalog to the Data Office Data partners, Enterprise architects, MDM and Data Quality Architects, Solution Architects, key IT & business executives and other stakeholders. Take over the architecture / subject matter expert role in related initiatives and guide the solutioning and implementation of capabilities across Line of Business.

Qualifications

To be confident in this role, we believe you should have:
Bachelor’s degree (Software Engineering, Computer Science)

7-10+ years of experience working on AbInitio DC

Experience with the ABInitio Metadata Hub solution, as Novo Nordisk has selected that as the Enterprise Data Catalog solution

2-3 years of experience working extensively on Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc)

Experience with databases like Snowflake, SQL, Oracle etc.

Experience with assessing and implementing enterprise-wide Data Catalog tools

Experience in integrating complex and cross-corporate processes

Understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Work experience on regulated systems on GXP environments

Exposure to handling audits and non-conformities

Having considerable amount of experience in both Implementation and Support setup

ITIL Foundation Certified

Good to have experience with agile methodologies

Preferred pharmaceutical industry experience

Experience from working and managing in a project oriented, international matrix organization
