What will you do?

Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify and isolate technical issues

Must be willing to take ownership of the issue analysis and resolution efforts and commit to “doing what it takes” to resolve technical issues regardless of the effort or timeframe. Triage as necessary for production, QA, & development environments

Serve as a mentor through leadership and setting positive examples

Maintain and monitor network equipment and capacity

Work on systems initiatives and new projects

Complete tasks required to maintain service levels and availability of all site features and functions

Work with external vendors/consultants to diagnose complex problems and drive resolution

Resolve errors and alarms quickly and provide timely escalation

Work with external vendors/consultants/carriers as required for troubleshooting and/or initiatives

Support process improvements

What are we looking for?

4-6 years of experience using Cisco L3/L2 switches & routers from stackable to chassis 6500 series, in a multi-site environment

4-6 years of experience managing firewall and VPN equipment (Cisco ASA experience highly regarded)

5+ years of experience troubleshooting TCP/IP and Ethernet networks

Strong skills with using and diagnosing network captures

Strong understanding of and practical experience with network security best-practices

Experience with proxy systems and load balancers

Experience with IDS/IPS systems and technologies

Expertise with compression and encryption technologies

Must have strong communication skills and ability to work individually, within a team, with other groups and with customers

Must have ability to communicate complex technical problems concisely and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences

Proven problem-solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution

Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment

Understanding of / experience supporting BGP & OSPF routing

Experience supporting web servers

Experience with disaster recovery strategies

Preferred (not Required)

Understanding of or experience supporting .NET applications

Understanding of virtualization technology
