Job Title: Network Engineer 2

Roles & Responsibilities:
The Senior Network Engineer’s responsibilities include the design, installation and maintenance of the Global Data Solutions Data Network globally.

The candidate must be competent to work as a SME in the design, support, and troubleshooting of the Network Infrastructure.

Proven expertise in Wide application of principles, theories and concepts of the TCP/IP protocol suite, LAN/WAN technologies, switching, routing, structured cabling, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP and Telephony technologies.

Installation of both the software and hardware components of firewalls along with other portions of security infrastructure.

Comprehensive understanding of issues/concerns related to networking and/or telecom.

Ability to methodologically and effectively troubleshoot and resolve solutions to a wide range of IOS, hardware, and connectivity failures. Able to provide solutions that are imaginative, thorough and practicable

Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.

Ability to provide assistance to level 1 staff as a first point of escalation during problem resolution.

Technology: (Knowledge/Skills)

In depth understanding of and experience with real-time, interactive communications protocols and technologies, such as VoIP and telephony.

Very strong Layer 2 & 3 Networking skills solid BGP, IPV4, Change management.

Hands on experience in Configuring IPSEC tunnel.

Knowledge on Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX and Palo Alto will be a Plus.

Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.

Knowledge on Routing path manipulation techniques.

Troubleshooting the routing protocols like BGP, EIGRP, Static and OSPF and work with the ISPs and internal teams to resolve issues.

Understanding customers requirement for building IPSec tunnel and Troubleshooting it during any incident alerts.

In depth knowledge with all data/voice/video products provided by telecom vendors.

In depth expertise of how applications and servers operate and impact network performance.

Proven expertise in the security issues/concerns related to networking and/or telecom.

Skill in acting as subject matter expert in domains to all network engineers and management team.

Hands-on experience in working with tools like Service Now, Solar winds, Cisco prime, Configuration Manager etc.

Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

Experience in Azure Environment, VMs , databased or similar cloud experience will be a plus.

Proven knowledge on SDN, SDWAN & Cloud computing.
