General Summary:
. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for driving technical projects, managing functional teams, building processes, and driving execution for Engineering IT projects under the direction of the Project Management Office (PMO).
. Working with diverse, cross-functional teams composed of both technical and non-technical members of IT and Business organization.
. Developing/publishing metrics, dashboards and performing analyses of critical path activities.
. Communicating effectively, both spoken and written for technical and business audiences. Ability to author key technical documents shared with partner teams and senior leadership.
. Analytical ability identifying risks at the project and team level. Engaging stakeholders and senior management for risk mitigation or escalation.
. Determines appropriate project management methodology for defined projects. Synthesizes, and represents complex information into clear, refined messages, and tracks and drives complex issues into detailed Plan of Record (POR).
. Identifies work breakdown structure (WBS), task dependencies, identifies and assigns specific resources, communicates expectations to project team, obtains task effort and duration estimates and creates/tracks project schedule.
. Establishes cadence of communication with concise summaries of plans, status, and risk/issue mitigation plans. Reporting and escalating to management with core stakeholders, management, and executives.
. Manages performance (e.g., scope, schedule, budget, and quality) for complex projects, developing/publishing metrics, dashboards and performing analyses of critical path activities. Supports compliance with defined project lifecycle standards and best practices.
. Demonstrates advanced understanding of technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, disciplines associated with defined projects and utilizes knowledge to accelerate project completion.
. Identifies and manages training plans, quality reviews, documentations and weekly meetings required for project execution. Developing process improvements to meet stakeholder needs and PMO maturity objectives (e.g. standardized tools, templates, and processes).
. Ability to exercise technical judgment in solving engineering challenges involving problem decomposition, bug triage, dependency analysis, continuous integration, etc.
. Agile/Scrum processes and hybrid-application of multiple project management methodologies.
. Creativity and innovation to solve problems and leverage new technology to effectively meet business needs.
. PMP and Agile/Scrum Master Certification.
