General Summary:
As a member of the Engineering Compute Global Grid Systems Engineering Team (GSE), you will be responsible for leading development and optimization efforts to support Qualcomm’s HW Engineering distributed EDA environment. This includes participating in or leading architectural innovation and path finding efforts to create and implement Qualcomm’s next generation EDA (HPC) environment both On-premises and Cloud. As a member of the team, you will be expected to not only deliver technical requirements and solutions but also be able to present your solutions in group forums and to senior management. Responsibilities include but are not limited to working as individual contributor, a team member and a technical team lead to explore, define, and pilot new solutions with little supervision. In these roles you be collaborating closely with IT, EDA, Cloud architecture, hardware design team and stakeholders to define and deliver workload efficiency improvements in Qualcomm’s EDA environment global.
Responsibilities (Role): ·
Work with both internal and external teams to explorer new technologies.
Contribute to the development of Qualcomm’s HPC Computing & Cloud architecture.
Communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Develop solutions for improving parallel and distributed job processing in both On-premises and Cloud EDA environment.
Experience in using and handling HPC enterprise compute architecture and EDA workflows.
Form a well-informed cloud approach and manage the change process.
Regularly assess cloud applications, hardware, and software.
Identify the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company.
Working with corporate clients to understand their requirements and put in place cloud solutions and in our GRID environment to satisfy those requirements.
Collaborate with engineering on the design and development of future software initiatives.
Provide periodic training to Engineers and Administrators on our grid solutions.
Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
Action driven with strong analytical and analytical skills.
Desire to be involved in multiple diverse and innovative projects.
Experience with Container technologies at scale in an HPC environment ·
Experience with Linux performance tools ·
Experience working with or maintaining EDA workflows
Qualification:
10+ years of work experience in HPC domain and Cloud experience
Understanding of the declarative capabilities of one or more cloud infrastructure providers (I.E. AWS, GCP, Azure) and the ability to build solutions based on these capabilities
Extensive project experience migrating from legacy systems and deploying complex cloud-based solutions
Debug LSF, license, workflow related issues and provide resolution working with IT/CAD. Responsible for exploring and driving CAD-Infrastructure upgradation if any from IT, new feature testing and deployment.
Good knowledge of Linux/Unix system, FLEXLM, design database management, versioning system. Knowledge on EDA Tools and workflows and use models.
Good understanding of IT infrastructure like storage, servers, firewall, Network connectivity .Good knowledge on scripting skills PERL, Shell, Splunk”
Preferred Qualification:
Minimum of 10+ Years of prior experience supporting large scale HPC environments
Minimum of 3+ years in a role designing and implementing Cloud solutions.
Hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
Python/ Perl scripting experience and Splunk/IBM LSF, PBS, NC will be an additional preference.
