The Trailhead Technical Operations team builds and manages product capabilities and applications that help Trailhead Academy, Trailhead Product, Marketing, and Sales teams perform their best.
OVERVIEW
As the Solution Architect of Trailhead Technical Operations, you will be part of a dynamic, global team, building and supporting technical infrastructure and services to meet the business needs of our internal and external customers. Your primary focus would be Leading projects through the requirements definition and solution design phase. Ensure the overall solution design meets business requirements, fulfills user stories, and works with a team of engineers through the build, test, and deployment phases. The candidate must demonstrate dynamic leadership in the full life cycle of the software development environment.
Through user story definition, logical data model design, functional system design, and best-practice methodologies, you will lead the detailed design of Salesforce and related technology projects from inception through production support. You will provide industry standards as a trusted advisor to key business and technology partners and identify areas of product growth. You should have a passion for building scalable applications while minimizing technical debt. Finding ways to multiply the output of the team with new tools and techniques is exciting for you.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Translate business requirements to technical requirements, write user stories, and provide detailed system and functional designs
Designing and documenting learning management systems data model, processes, API.
Define the system architecture landscape, identify gaps between current and desired end-states, and deliver a comprehensive solution that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes
Document business processes and wireframe system designs using process flow diagram tools, UML, sequence diagrams, etc. as well as make recommendations for future state improved processes and system designs
Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes
Lead enterprise-level projects using both waterfall and agile software development methodologies throughout the whole life cycle
Leverage agile work management practices, including sprint planning and retrospectives to track critical work. Partner with product owners for backlog grooming and work prioritization
Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards

Support its Global Commercial Learning team in the development, scaling and maintenance of learning strategies and programs).
Responsible for designing and delivering learning management system databases, methods, processes, and infrastructure interfaces for sales and marketing teams.
They will collaborate with key global stakeholders to ensure the systems and plans are aligned with the business goals, objectives, and strategies.
They will measure training program effectiveness and business results with critical dashboards and content management systems.
Manage multiple projects efficiently and with timely execution.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
Masters / Bachelors degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Equivalent Experience
Experience in integrating Learning Management System (LMS) with other enterprise systems
10+ years of Experience as a LMS Solution Architect & software engineering.
Experience will be evaluated based on the core strengths for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, work experience, etc.)
Must be able to guide and work with engineering teams, product management, multi-functional units, and upper-management
Shown ability to drive multi-functional teams to achieve common goals and business objectives
Experience integrating Salesforce with different business systems, basic understanding of programming logic and constructs, specifically in Salesforce, and their use in software development
Experience with single-org deployments and multi-org consolidations.
Expertise in defining, implementing, and continual refinement of business processes
Experience in communicating with developers, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
History of leading large complex projects and programs across all areas of IT to include, Applications, Infrastructure and Operations, and Information Security
Ability to strategize and solve business problems by recommending and designing a combination of process and automation solutions.
Experience managing multiple work streams and multiple initiatives while controlling risks
Experience with agile development or scrum project management methodologies
Understanding of software engineering principles, key design patterns and best practices
Strategic thinker that can see the big picture, innovate and adapt to constant change
Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect certification is a plus.
Solid understanding of data management concepts and architectures is required.
