The Sr. IT Project Manager , Software Engineering will lead one or more technology teams building a world-class Payment/Banking platform. Working closely with Product leadership, you will drive customer success in an expanding and rapidly growing area.
Job Overview
Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least 4+ year for a software development team (Preferably Microservices) that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Experience in guiding the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practice & work collaboratively as a team
Expertise in assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
Strong knowledge in removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving
Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.
Ensuring the overall delivery commitments are understood by the team and team works towards delivering to the same.
Key Qualifications:
Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, SaFe, Nexus, Lean etc.
Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team (Java)
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Responsibilities/Duties
Fulfills the functions of an Agile Scrum Master; runs the software development planning and delivery process
Building high-performing Agile teams
Providing servant leadership and building multiple high-performing Agile teams
Look for ways to strengthen teams understanding of Agile / Scrum concepts and principles
Ensure Scrum practices are used and improved within and across teams
Bring transparency to Business and IT organization about development and grow trust
Leverages Jira and Confluence to elicit and define business and technical requirements, track requirements, prioritize features, curate content, sequence deliverables into sprints, and report progress
Leads Increment and sprint planning sessions and documents resulting story boards
Facilitates the daily scrum meeting and supports delivery teams (pods) in execution of scrum methodology
Responsible for maintenance and tracking of sprint backlog and prioritization
Documents and leads remediation / removal of blockers during sprints
Collaborates with the Agile coach to maintain accountability and compliance with the defined Agile delivery methodology
Ensures that teams actions are aligned with Epics, Features and Stories
Act as the first point of escalation for the team
Responsible to Monitor, Measure, & Report Progress of the team including burndown charts, team velocity
Ensure good relationship between the team and product owner as well as others outside the team
Good problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to coach and mentor all roles on a scrum team
Use considerable judgment to determine solution and seeks guidance on complex problems
