Stibo Systems Looking for System Admin – Linux at Bengaluru, Karnataka Full Time

Linux Engineer, Bangalore

Expanding Group IT in Stibo Systems, Bengaluru, India. We are looking for Linux Engineer who is willing to support the Stibo IT Infrastructure and business almost 24/7. This position reports to the local IT Manager.

• ITSM tool management – Understand the importance of good communication with stakeholders
• Recognize/categorize security events and incidents according to Stibo
• Contribute and participate in all Stibo Projects
• Standard operation tasks and activities
• Understand and handle escalation and prioritizing issues
• Knowledge sharing with superusers/ users
• Prioritize and handle standard activities without instructions
• Create and maintain documentation, including How-to and troubleshooting articles
• Delivering best practice – Mindset

Specific tasks

• Through Tier-II, assist and support On-site / helpdesk with backend support
• Assist in Installing and Maintenance of infrastructure servers
• Contribute to the daily operations of VMware, backup, deployment, etc.

Technologies include

• Hands-on experience in Linux System administration (RedHat / Ubuntu ) including network and SAN configuration, OS upgrades, Patch installation
• Hands-on experience with layered disk management products
• Hands-on experience in configuration and troubleshooting
• Integration of various network-related services like NFS, DNS, FTP, SFTP, and Samba Server.
• Installation and configuration of Apache
• Troubleshooting skills with network protocols such as DNS, TCP/IP, and SMTP & SNMP.
• Extensive implementation and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience in writing basic shell scripts using e.g. bash, Perl, and Python for process automation is a plus
• Strong technical background in Storage, Disk Management, Software RAID, Logical Volume Management (LVM), and logical partitioning.
• Hands-on experience in Linux Performance Monitoring and Tuning.
• Knowledge of security, scheduler, backup, and performance monitor product like
• Able to work well with multiple stakeholders in migrating/deploying applications to Linux OS installations
• Set up application environment, assist Application team in verifying application environment, troubleshoot application problems as and when application encounter problem.
• Hands-on experience in planning and execution for migrating/relocating servers within and across Data Centers, Hands-on/knowledge of server migration tools like plate spin
• Ability to design and implement the automated test
• Sparse knowledge of containers (Docker / Kubernetes) would be a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Scripting / Cross-platform configuration management tools
• Management of User accounts, System security, change management, and performance tuning.
• Installation of SSL certificates in Linux servers.

Moreover, you:

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree
• 2 years of relevant and documented experience
• Flexible to work as per the business requirements
• Hands-on experience with ITSM tools
• Linux Certifications are a plus
