Role Summary
The Engineering IT Operations Manager will be responsible for managing IT operations in our engineering center InSource. IT operations include improving end user experience, ownership of asset life cycle management, budget management, managing escalations, client management with the engineering center of excellence. The role will also support the engineering COE teams, to solicit requests and enable support to infrastructure IT software initiatives. The role is also expected to work with the Engineering teams, to understand the s/w roadmap for Engineering Software, and ascertain corresponding IT needs to support growth initiatives of the center
As part of operations, the role, will also be responsible for driving business analysis, and bridge the gap between strategy and execution
The role will continue to support regional operations which include supplies and tooling budgeting, regional escalations, process improvements
The role will report into the regional CIO
Essential Responsibilities / Expectations
Stakeholder Management, ability to work in a matrixed environment
Manage the IT Operations supplies and tooling budget for the region
Manage the entire IT budget for the engineering center of excellence
Understand business development efforts leading to service delivery, including collaboration across teams related to value proposition development and solution architecture
Lead the Dev Sec Ops initiative for the Engineering team
Drive execution and manage risk across multi-disciplinary teams comprised of stakeholders
Handle account issues at the highest of professional standards and juggle multiple requests from customers/stakeholders, from deep technical discussions on our engineering software and solutions
Leverage data from global helpdesk to pulse customer needs and improve VOCs to improve end user experience
Own the asset life cycle management process from ordering to disposition of assets
Profiling end user roles, to software needs, to asset requirements
Proactively identify and resolve issues and make recommendations for improvements to existing processes
Educational Qualification
B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related engineering field.
10 to 15 years of service delivery development/delivery teams and organizations both onshore and offshore.
Previous operational experience in water industry / engineering functions
Experience with globally distributed teams and business partners.
Prior hands-on experience with service delivery/ customer experience and asset lifecycle management
Entrepreneurial by nature and comfortable managing teams in a fast-moving, results-driven Agile/Scrum environment.
Great written and oral communication skills including the ability to train existing team in their soft skills as and when needed.
Self-directed with the ability to make strategic, complex and difficult decisions
