ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Technology Solutions-Senior Specialist, you will provide end-to-end Solution Architecture expertise and technical know-how in the multiple technologies used within the Telstra product portfolio (such as, IoT, Cloud/Edge and knowledge in Mobility would be an added advantage) to deliver the following responsibilities:
Lead complex, cross functional initiatives with speed, working with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver shared goals quickly and efficiently.
Architecture leadership and direction is provided across all program streams and technology domains, including operations
Significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Solution Architecture domain by implementing best practices and policies to support environment stability and enhance the engineering team’s capability.
Aggregate and analyse relevant technology performance and experience data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of technology solutions.
Provide coaching and technical oversight to less experienced team members, supporting them to build, integrate and deploy solutions/systems across our enterprise; and helping them to anticipate and resolve issues.
Model continuous learning by developing and maintaining your own expertise and knowledge (including new and emerging technologies, tools, systems and processes) to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role, and help to empower others in your team to deliver world-class solution design
Architectural alignment across the N&IT, B2B/B2C, Digitisation, including the IT and service operations teams
Analyse and/or develop API driven, software intensive systems architecture, including modelling of end-to-end functional flows.
Define detailed performance / cost models (including cloud and on-prem infrastructure soft/hard limits) to enable the stakeholders to make resource provisioning and cost management related decisions.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
10 to 15 years of extensive working experience as a Solution Architect.
Experience in the telecommunications industry with specific knowledge of Networks architectures, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, IoT Technologies and Solutions, Software Defined Architecture, automation and emerging technologies.
Extensive experience in design, development and execution of hybrid cloud environments involving Azure and AWS
Strong background or knowledge in IoT (Ecosystem including platform, application, networking)
Proficient skills in CI / CD frameworks
Understanding in programming languages (.NET)
Extensive experience in design, development and execution of Micro-services driven application solutions in the IoT industry
Exceptional stakeholder management skills
Some desirable skills would be:
Experience in developing and executing strategy
Previous experience managing technology delivery agile methodologies
Experience and knowledge in BSS/OSS solution architecture in telecommunications context (e.g. CRM, billing, service provisioning and assurance)
