The IT Director, India manages the information systems delivery and supports the digital transformation for India. The incumbent is a trusted advisor and business partner to the relevant stakeholders within country and is accountable to partner with business stakeholders & senior leadership.
This role focuses on developing optimal strategic and operational excellence capabilities (organization, process, and tools/systems) to support and grow the business, and is accountable for providing Digital and IT process, application, and project management leadership for new and existing technology solutions.
The IT Director will work closely with the global/regional Digital and IT teams for shared services (Infrastructure, Shared Apps, eBusiness, etc.) within each business group/division to ensure overall Digital and IT Solutions delivery for ongoing support, enhancements, new releases and new applications.
The Director will provide leadership and work direction to both internal and external resources and will directly manage an organization of Digital and IT business partners.
Responsibilities:
Partner with IT and business leaders in the development of short and long-term business technology strategies for the country.
Provide leadership for planning, development, delivery and coordination of information services and initiatives ensuring they are aligned to the business’ strategic imperatives
Provide leadership to ensure the business requirements are understood and priorities are aligned and delivered – be the voice of the country to the regional/global Digital and IT team
Develop and leverage a deep understanding of the company’s business requirements and be the bridge between business needs and Digital and IT technical roadmaps
Budgeting, development, integration and delivery of complex information systems projects and enhancements through all phases of the project life cycle
Provide status reporting to Digital Solutions Asia leadership and country leadership; escalate and manage risks at the appropriate levels within IT and the business
Collaborate effectively with Digital and IT colleagues to ensure prioritized business objectives are met
Objectively analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of current and planned people and organizational capabilities and determine appropriate solutions
Adapt to change and determine creative, cost effective solutions for business challenges
Lead the implementation of company approved enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware and software and database management.
Partner to drive the digital transformation projects for India.
Collaborate with the IT Center of Excellence in India.
People Development
Actively evaluate and develop people and organizational capabilities in order to set and execute a human resource strategy which accelerates business growth and drives value
Mentor and educate within and across the team to ensure a stronger overall Digital and IT organization
Manage the plans and activities of a team of managers, employees, and external contractors in order to achieve stated objectives
Ensure resources are assigned in a manner aligned with business priorities and personnel development goals
Hire, motivate, and retain employees, to build a high performing team. Develop local pipeline for leadership and key pillar positions
Actively participate as a member of the function and the India leadership team.
Financial
Manage to an annual operating budget
Forecast and plan for future financial needs for existing application management and projects
Comply with the company’s financial & procurement policies and procedures (including budgeting process, forecast cycles, RFP processes, contracting/PO processes)
Collaborate within Digital and IT to ensure adequate flow of project information, resourcing and budgeting
Compare, contrast and benchmark services or costs against others
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent
Broad operational IT experience in a large company environment
Ideally 15+ years of direct experience in IT with + 5 years leadership experience within a large, multinational matrixed organization
Strong background in ERP solutions (e.g. SAP, E1 or JD Edwards) preferred
Should have worked on RPA, workflow, data and analytics
Experience in Digital Commerce and helping business in applications of data science
Should have exposure to infrastructure and end user service and support (+3000 users)
Strong understanding of the IT strategy and how it relates to business objectives
Strong project management skills and understanding of project management lifecycle
Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment, strong influencing skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
