About Team:
The IT Operations Center (ITOC) is part of the greater Secure Operations team implemented to provide Thermo Fisher Scientific organization the ability to oversee a complex global application and infrastructure environment that requires high availability. This support is inclusive of Windows, Unix, Mainframe, Network and Cloud infrastructures.
About the Role:
The ITOC- Fusion team is monitoring the real-time dashboards for first touch remediation of events impacting our critical applications. Where not supported they are accountable for confirming that proper attention is being applied to each of the events by the overall STO (Secure Technology & Operations) organization.
Key Responsibilities
To resolve any issues related to the critical applications, servers, networks and telecommunications.
Build and maintain standard procedures to troubleshoot and resolve events.
Work with engineers to reduce mean time to resolution and enhance the delivery of the service.
They must maintain communication with the vendors and the team to ensure they remain updated on any issues in their domains.
Regularly interact with the Internal customers and support teams. Must handle both the non-technical and technical requirements for the customer.
Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following combination of education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or Computer Science And/or equivalent work experience in similar fields.
CCNA/CCNP or equivalent experience required.
3-5 years of experience in Global operational Infrastructure areas. Including Network, Windows, Unix, and/or Mainframe performing hands-on IT Infrastructure & Application troubleshooting.
Self-motivated, with key strengths in initiative, dependability and teamwork.
Background and experience working in an enterprise environment with Service Management disciplines, inclusive of Request, Incident, Problem and Change processes.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to handle multiple support cases
Ability to work calmly through high-pressure situations.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
May be required to work after-hours and weekends as needed
On call coverage (This is expected to be very low percentage of time)
Ability to travel to other sites if needed (this is expected to be a very low percentage of time)
