Purpose of the Role
Unilever is looking to appoint a senior leader for the position of IT Director – Finance platform. This position is intended to partner with the Finance function and deliver ‘run and transformation’ IT activities.
The position will report to the VP IT- Enterprise Platforms and will be part of the Enterprise Platforms leadership team. The IT Director – Finance platform is expected to partner with the Global finance function (Digital finance, performance management, GCAD, Tax, Treasury, ComEx) and deliver all IT requirements related to various modules (Record to report, Supply Chain Finance, Financial forecasting, Tax & Treasury, Procure-To-Pay). Additionally, the individual is also responsible for managing IT requirements of legal function.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in large-scale SAP transformation work. Unilever will require an international leader with the ability to manage globally distributed teams and to
communicate and influence across all levels of the organization.
From a strategic business point of view, the successful candidate will work directly with the VP Commercial Experience, VP Legal Business, BG CFOs, Enterprise platform directors and other senior leaders of finance and legal functions to improve the efficiency across the global organization. Tactically, the finance platform owns 100+ applications and 30+ technologies. Hence, there is a need for owning up the architecture and having an integrated view of the entire finance IT landscape (including legal).

Generate a technology roadmap for Finance including selection of the right tools and technology which will drive efficiency and agility in the department. Additionally, own IT for legal
Manage the overall budgets and internal resources to deliver large programs

I&A: Deliver the analytics capabilities required for finance and legal
Drive efficiency through Digital Finance E2E Operations (e.g., leveraging SAP ECC, Central
Drive growth by focusing on Digital Performance and Insights. (e.g. Leveraging Oracle Hyperion, Data Lake)
Manage strategic relationships with suppliers like SAP, Oracle, Blackline and with SI partners like Accenture, Infosys, Deloitte

Deliver and support resilient financial and management reporting tech products
Co-develop 3 years strategic plan for domains of Finance, Treasury, Tax and Legal
Develop annual operating plans – demand prioritization, cross dependencies, capacity, capability mapping, budgets (capex and opex)
Identify, Inspire, Develop, support, and grow people, with special focus on gender diversity
Drive aggressive apps rationalization and simplification in domains areas – work closely with UniOps in Market
Partner with stakeholders (see below) on identifying the art of the possible and co-develop horizon 1-2 -3 thinking
Brining in outside in perspectives
Deliver programs on budget – in time and per schedule
Manage BAU as per targets and ensure zero overruns
Ensure 100% compliance to Unilever controls framework and drive closure of all open audit findings

Essential Skills
The successful candidate for this role will bring an ideal mix of experience across the core areas of finance and IT. S/he must understand the technical aspects and responsibilities of finance functions combined with the experience of having implemented large scale IT/ technology transformations.
Required skills and proficiencies:
Over 15 years of industry experience in driving IT related change management and solving business problems
Extensive experience in managing and overseeing complex and diverse organisation-wide information technology environments and operations, ideally operating at IT leadership team level
Ability to grasp complex business process and provide insight on how they are enabled through technology
Experience of innovating and defining the change programs across large and multi-functional
global organisations
Successful delivery of high-quality IT services through strategic contract management in a similarly challenging environment. Experience of deriving benefit and continuous improvement, both financially and in performance, from large, outsourced contracts
Hands on experience in budget management
Open to new ways of working like leveraging startups, API and micro-services, AI/ML and delivering with speed and agility
Experience of leading iterative design for process and technical development cycles (hackathons and agile development)
