RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: As the IT Director for Software, you will set a vision and lead a team responsible for supporting software teams involved in developing DI, IVI and BMS products. You would be the thought leader responsible to develop IT strategy and deploy tools that enables the software teams to be productive and deliver quality software to the end customers. Your team is also responsible for supporting all applications within the SLA, responsible to enhance the applications and fix IT issues to support software users globally. Critical to this role is the ability to leverage IT partners, have a trusted relationship with Business leaders and develop and manage a capable team to ensure the delivery of future business needs. Your well-honed leadership skills should allow you to translate vision into action, manage multiple priorities, improve operations, and maintain positive and productive relationships while delivering results. You ensure that the software teams have all the tools with optimized cost to support exiting customer projects and become best in class foundation to support new business wins.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Thought Leadership
Evangelizes and directs technology and process changes across software development/delivery.
Develops a roadmap for the software tool chain, serving as a front-end leader for all SW engineering tool chain aspects, including development, integration, and delivery.
Leads initiatives to enhance the developer experience in software development and delivery by provision adequate infrastructure. Implements strategies to streamline workflows and optimize developer productivity.
Provides thought leadership in the DevOps sphere.
Induction/adoption of new technological advances.
Maintain key automotive software technical relationships with customers and industry leaders.
Leadership of multiple IT Transformation Projects
Develop strategies to staff and execute projects on time and within budget for all regional customers.
Ensure expert support to all customer project developments globally.
Maintain and increase the focus on quality across the organization and act as the central point of contact for escalated issues.
Align program execution initiatives with customer expectations
Manage resources within defined targets
Deliver agreed features per the timing plan
Ensure close oversight and control of software development process, including releases, ensuring proper application of quality tools, unit testing, peer reviews and pre-integration testing.
