Visteon Corporation Looking for IT Director – Software at Bangalore Urban, Karnataka, India Full Time

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: As the IT Director for Software, you will set a vision and lead a team responsible for supporting software teams involved in developing DI, IVI and BMS products. You would be the thought leader responsible to develop IT strategy and deploy tools that enables the software teams to be productive and deliver quality software to the end customers. Your team is also responsible for supporting all applications within the SLA, responsible to enhance the applications and fix IT issues to support software users globally. Critical to this role is the ability to leverage IT partners, have a trusted relationship with Business leaders and develop and manage a capable team to ensure the delivery of future business needs. Your well-honed leadership skills should allow you to translate vision into action, manage multiple priorities, improve operations, and maintain positive and productive relationships while delivering results. You ensure that the software teams have all the tools with optimized cost to support exiting customer projects and become best in class foundation to support new business wins.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Thought Leadership

Evangelizes and directs technology and process changes across software development/delivery.

Develops a roadmap for the software tool chain, serving as a front-end leader for all SW engineering tool chain aspects, including development, integration, and delivery.

Leads initiatives to enhance the developer experience in software development and delivery by provision adequate infrastructure. Implements strategies to streamline workflows and optimize developer productivity.

Provides thought leadership in the DevOps sphere.

Induction/adoption of new technological advances.

Maintain key automotive software technical relationships with customers and industry leaders.

Leadership of multiple IT Transformation Projects

Develop strategies to staff and execute projects on time and within budget for all regional customers.

Ensure expert support to all customer project developments globally.

Maintain and increase the focus on quality across the organization and act as the central point of contact for escalated issues.

Align program execution initiatives with customer expectations

Manage resources within defined targets

Deliver agreed features per the timing plan

Ensure close oversight and control of software development process, including releases, ensuring proper application of quality tools, unit testing, peer reviews and pre-integration testing.

Program Financial Performance

1. Accountable for performance to budget
2. Drive the budget and business case for new application launches globally.
3. Manage specifically Engineering application maintenance budget.
4. Lead IT Vendor negotiations and contracts
5. Large budget management, forecasts, and Cost Reductions.

Technical Leadership

1. Developing, aligning IT Strategies with Business goals, and executing IT Strategies
2. Partner with IT vendors to develop and communicate business and technology alignment plans.
3. Good understanding of architectures and implementation of the applications used for Software development like GIT, Jira, Confluence, Jira add-ons. Klockwork, Coverity, Jenkins, Kubernetes.
4. Understanding of build systems for Android and other automotive codebase.
5. Understanding of automated software test frames.
6. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and associated software tools.
7. Understanding of Aspice traceability to ensure software quality.

• Talent and Leadership Development

1. Develop capability and capacity through structured approaches to talent management.
2. Deliver a strategy for technical growth for the region and drive the technical ladder process.
3. Consistently raise the bar on own performance as well as that of the team. Sets appropriate goals and consistently provides feedback on a real-time basis.

1. Manage Support team to support Global teams.Leading Global teams across all regions and IT verticals, for Operations.
2. Evaluation, Outsourcing, insourcing of IT services to meet business needs.
3. Building and rightsizing high performance global internal IT support teams.
4. Ensure availability of top skill resources from the IT partners to get best support to the Engineering community

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in software/ IT environment; software company experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in software discipline preferred (ideally BSEE)
• Master’s degree is preferred (ideally MBA)
• Experience leading global organization – internal and external
