The Chief Digital Transformation Office (CDTO) offers an opportunity to shape and drive VMware’s Digital Transformation to enable Operations to scale and support VMware’s growth.
We are a core team, responsible for Enterprise Architecture with the goal to accelerate Digital Transformation of VMware + M&A business portfolio & Technology platforms to meet the strategic goal of $20B by designing scalable solutions and removing obstacles to current and future transformation initiatives.
As SAP BRIM, Solution Architect, you will lead the transformation of VMware subscription business by bringing Industry standards and business appropriate billing models to different route-to-markets.
In this role, you will creates formal networks with key decision makers within and outside the CDTO organization, serving as an external spokesperson for the organization. Leveraging your strong inter-personal skills, you will collaborate with the subject matter experts to understands the unique challenges in each business domain and leads the effort to define and eventually deliver critical/Leading Edge solution to support our SaaS business.

Understand VMware subscription business and different product offerings. Take full ownership and drive the development of the CDTO Vision.
Guide and influence team members to accomplish the team’s technical architecture and solution designs. Socialize the architectural solutions to across all teams including senior executives (CIO, CTO, VPs).
Work closely with other extended SMEs, development teams, Product Managers and Business Stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
As a member of Architectural Review Board, you will provide guidance and solution to various development teams in different technologies.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
You will build solutions that impact VMware’s B2C, B2B and B2B2C business.
As a hands-on architect, you will lead a team of technical and functional members to design and deliver scalable solutions in a distributed systems/ hybrid cloud environment. Along with strong subscription business knowledge, a strong technical knowledge is also necessary for this role.
As an architect, you will review the current business processes of various lines of business and help to standardize them. In this process, you will help in transforming and consolidating the business platforms.
In-depth understanding of COTS billing and quoting application like SAP BRIM, Subscription Order Management (SAP SOM), Convergent Charging and Convergent Invoicing Data Modelling.
You will be building your solutions integrating SAP platform with various upstream and downstream business systems. You will demonstrate your experience in designing different types of integrations.
Leverage your experience in executing geographically distributed projects and working with culturally diverse teams.
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
You will report into the Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture but can expect to interact frequently with the Chief Technology Officer, IT and Enterprise Architects. As part of a relatively flat organization you will have full ownership of your domain. We encourage architects to be self-starters and drive initiatives taking complete end-to-end ownership working with cross functional teams and direct interactions with CIO leadership.
Our expectation is that you will build skills over time and take advantage of such diverse team environment to develop into a well-rounded business leader who will strategize, design and execute future state architecture blue-print (Business capabilities, Business model and Platform) in accordance with CDTO/CIO/CTO Priorities. You will help modernize enterprise apps ecosystem through processes (DevOps/CI-CD) and app modernization design patterns. You will be responsible for enterprise governance, compliance and design scalable solutions for distributed systems (400+ on-prem and 100+ SaaS solutions).
