THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF THIS POSITION ARE:
To supervise, lead, coach and develop the IT team who provide the day to day administration and support of the corporate office.
To ensure all assigned problem and fault tickets are responded to and completed and escalated in line with Departmental Policy.
To Develop efficient and effective procedures for providing secure, reliable and functional IT services to end users
To ensure IT Operational Best Practises are implemented and to continually seek to improve the service delivery of the team.
Work with external suppliers to agree contracts and purchase prices
Office lead on BCP issues / planning 4.
THE PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION ARE: (Include but not limited to:)
To ensure the IT Team are appropriately trained to perform their functions.
To provide coaching and timely feedback on performance and behaviour, ensuring that they operate in a professional manner and in line with core business values. To delegate and manage their daily tasks
To manage and approve time and attendance, including rosters, after hours support, absence etc
To ensure adequate numbers of staff are available within the dept during working hours and that appropriate escalation procedures are in place for after-hours coverage.
To ensure this team is; o actively monitoring systems and providing the necessary daily, weekly and monthly reports on security, capacity, outages etc o
reporting and resolving issues that compromise the safety and or integrity of the network and systems o performing regular ongoing capacity planning,
o ensuring Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans are up to date and tested at least once a year.
o performing regular maintenance on servers, databases and other systems as required, o ensuring data integrity and longevity via the backup and recovery systems
To ensure Policies and Procedures are kept up to date, published and staff are informed and made aware of all/any changes to procedure.
To manage Change Control within the core infrastructure, ensuring all changes are approved, planned for, tested prior if possible and thoroughly tested afterwards. Also ensuring a fall-back plan is included if deemed necessary.
Ensuring knowledge and documentation of major systems, VX Rail, VMWare, Avaya, AD etc is shared to protect the company from sudden loss of key personnel.
To host incident reviews of all major incidents to ensure we have a thorough understanding of what happened and why it happened and to make the necessary changes to ensure the same problem does not occur again. Also ensure the monitoring systems are updated accordingly to be pro-actively monitoring and warning of any issue that could go on to cause an outage.
To prioritise own workload and that of the team, delegating work accordingly to ensure deadlines are met.
Help to prepare and maintain the Operations Capex and Expense budget Produce Monthly reports for Senior Manager IT on project status
Ensure all Projects are fully documented and being delivered according to schedule. To complete annual/mid-year/probationary performance reviews for all staff with the IT team.
