As we progress on this journey, we need to establish a new and refreshed IT Asset Management backbone to our technology organisation to support our transformation. You will be responsible to operate within the IT Asset Management Operations practice, so that we are able to optimise our asset base and manage/reduce risk. The ITAM function is responsible for deploying and enforce best practice on the IT E2E asset lifecycle.
What you’ll be doing:
Maintain contract, entitlement and inventory data repositories and manage SAM & HAM tool hygiene
Perform analysis on SAM & HAM data quality: identify and resolve inaccuracies
Generate software and hardware inventory reports
Diligently run operational SAM & HAM activities and processes (e.g. request management, user support, knowledgebase updates, entitlement capture, inventory management)
Manage vendor’s license portals and perform license allocations
Manage Service Now resover groups
Produce performance dashboards using metrics and KPIs
Work with the Software/Hardware Asset Managers to run software optimisation activities, including software reclaim
Run software savings governance process, logging savings and issuing to comms to stakeholders
Produce and maintain the body of SAM and HAM documentation
Apply a continuous improvement approach to running SAM and HAM activity in WPP
Identify software cost optimisation opportunities and work with the Software/Hardware Asset Managers to achieve them
Drive the compliant use of WPP’s software and hardware contracts through educating colleagues, enforcing policies, and monitoring adherence to processes.
What you’ll need:
Strong experience and background in Software Asset Management disciplines and ITIL
Understanding of Appplication Management and Categories
Expert data analysis skills and demonstrable experience in data modelling for vendors such as IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, Adobe, SAP, VMware in datacentre, virtualised and end user environments
Knowledge and hands-on experience with IT asset management tools, ServiceNow SAM and HAM Pro and CMDB.
Excellent organizational skills: detail-oriented, thorough, dependable, and trustworthy, with a positive attitude
Qualification Requirements (Desirable)
Degree in engineering, computer science, finance – desirable but not essential
Minimum 2 years working in an IT Asset Management role
Minimum 2 years working with ITAM or CMDB tools
