Senior Engineer

Role description
The Senior Engineer will assist the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) within the network organisation of the Global Shared Service Center (GSSC).
Description
This role drives execution of key strategic initiatives and will support DC LAN on prem and in Cloud service infrastructure. This is a both technical and service solutions role, communicate with key stakeholders and engineering teams daily to ensure the DC environment is stable and needed functions are covered.
In the role, you will be highly involved in Datacenter LAN and Cloud Datacenter solution services, contribute and discuss future designs and facilitate service management. Functions that are managed include integration, service quality, SLAs, service process improvements and communication with both Divisions and internal resources/teams.
Other aspects of the role include identifying customers and key stakeholders needs and requirements, managing service stakeholder collaborations and relationships, partnering with technology teams to analyze and write necessary documentation, and assist to ensure SLA delivery.
Responsibilities and challenges:
This role is to work in the DC LAN team, ensure the DC´s function and together with all involved teams and vendors to keep the SLAs and operational delivery.
Other key responsibilities include:
Effective simultaneous oversight and management of multiple projects/tasks
Be involved and be updated on the service roadmap
Be able to present technical aspects of the service and roadmap in regular forums
Validating key service features and capabilities with our Divisions
Ensuring service standards are being maintained including SLAs, etc
Participating in evaluation efforts on new vendor products along with our different teams
Be involved and understand service descriptions and service deliveries variants updated in Service Now.
Required Skills:
5+ years within IT area experience inclusive of 3+ years datacenter on prem and cloud experience
Strong internal and/or experience leading IT organizational and technology change deployments
Understanding of network infrastructure, IP addressing, Security and Network Monitoring tools
Experience with engaging vendors, including demonstrated success in technical evaluations and managing vendor product delivery
Strong collaboration, partnership and relationship management skills
Ability to work across functions and organizations
Strategic, logical, and creative thinker with an ability to translate strategy into effective presentations
Experience in strategic technology planning and policy development
Customer-centric mindset and passionate about driving improvements to customer experience
Results oriented mindset with the drive to deliver exceptional services
Proven experience with managing large projects, varying levels of stakeholders and ability to communicate effectively and influence decisions
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to business leaders, and business concepts to technologists
Technical Skill Set (required):
Competence within Software Defined Datacenter based on Arista network, using CloudVision, VMware (NSX-T) and micro segmentation.
Competence within cloud services including Azure, AWS, Oracle Google, Alibaba and similar.
Technical Skill Set (preferred but not required):
Functions of PaloAlto FW
Language Skills
Ability effectively communicate in English language verbally and in writing.
