Operations IT is a global IT capability supporting the Global Operations organisation. We business partner with Operations capability areas: Pharmaceutical Technology Development, Manufacturing & Global Engineering, Quality Control, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Logistics and Global External Sourcing and Procurement. THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this detail-oriented role, the Application Support Engineer must be: knowledgeable with the use of logistics and Labelling solutions like Loftware & Temperature Sensitive Solutions. The candidate is expected to be a collaborative team member in supporting and maintaining the business-critical application. The candidate should possess broad functional knowledge in his/her domain and in-depth technical knowledge in Deliver solutions.
Ensure optimum performance and stability for multiple supply systems for the logistics and labelling business process for AstraZeneca Operations, including providing workarounds and identifying areas for improvement or solutions to permanently address the issue
Handle 2nd/ 3rd line support (technical queries, bug fixes and small enhancements relating to application and platform), complying with Astra Zeneca standards, change control procedures
Take ownership of issues through from delivery or issue resolution or escalation, as appropriate
Support development activities by helping in code build and deployment, tool configuration management and administration, application environment set up, change and release management
Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups
Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, documenting and sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams
Liaise with multiple stake holders including users, infrastructure/middleware teams, 3rd party software vendors for resolving issues and potential process improvements
Responsible for recommending continuous improvement solutions to the Service Lead & Service Manager
Ensures that the IT Service Delivery Framework is adhered to by support
Ensures that the application operates within and complies with any regulatory, financial or internal AstraZeneca standards (GxP, SOx).
Has supporting responsibility for the DR testing and coordinating associated activities across the eco system.
Responsible for completing the Application Life Cycle plans for individual applications, which incorporate all attributes of the technology stack, to the required level of detail.
Has primary responsibility for maintaining and updating all documentation associated to the service throughout its lifecycle.
Ability to guide and mentor team members.
Supports the Service lead & Service Manager in reviewing the performance of the applications within the capability
Working in DevOps and Agile way of working
YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
4+ years of prior experience in application support and maintenance (L2/L3 support) of .Net & off the shelf application
Should be strong in database (Oracle /SQL) querying and writing stored procedures
Experience on Windows/UNIX application environment and understanding of client-server / distributed computing concepts
Experience in handling Supply chain domain applications (Non-SAP)
Basic understanding of Software as service or Platform as service solution
Understanding of incident, problem, change and release management process
Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups
Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
Familiarity with life sciences (Pharma) domain concepts, workflow and terminology
Development and troubleshooting experience on web applications built on the Microsoft .NET framework
Development and troubleshooting experience with MS SQL Server (2008, 2005, 2000). Knowledge in SQL Servers, Tables, Triggers, Views and Stored Procedures
Experience in setting up and managing application environments
Mindset to support business critical applications
Experience in scripting using PowerShell and Automation.
Knowledge in working with AWS/AZURE environment is added advantage.
Exposure to DevOps and Agile ways of working will be preferred
Educational Qualifications
UG – B.Tech /B.E. or other equivalent technical qualifications
